Back in the summer, I received a text from my dear friend, Kimberly. She is the founder and owner of torturedSoles, a wonderful 100% women owned company specializing in non-slip shoe pads. These scientifically developed pads are the BEST solution to feet discomfort and pain. They are great for women AND men. (more…)
Fall has arrived, but summer still persists. Yet in time, its dissipating warmth eases the transition to the new season. I’m excited and enticed as fall captivates with colorful landscapes. This truly is my favorite time of year! I love watching the leaves change colors and fall from the trees in an enchanting dance with the wind. I love the aroma of burning wood on chilly nights. It is the start of boot season, sweater weather, football, great fashion, and more! I adore it all and, of course, Lizzy’s Latest annual Top 5 Fall Favorites! (more…)
It was a brisk autumn day at the Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD on November 3, 2018. After an afternoon of photo shooting around the main areas of the battlefield, we had one more heel/outfit combo to fit in before sunset. It was a little after 5PM and we were not sure where to go next for the final photo shoot. With sunlight quickly dissipating, we found a patch of road lined with historic fencing. It was a lonely road save for a passing car or two; perfect for an impromptu photo shoot. (more…)
It is that time of year again when summer’s farewell lingers like the final notes of a beautifully composed piece of music. The ambience is sublime and filled with mirthful memories of time well spent. Holding on for one more hurrah and always one more until there is no more. Parting is such sweet sorrow tempered by fall’s inevitable tomorrow. Enticed, fall captivates with colorful landscapes and dancing leaves that fall from above. The aroma of burning wood on crisp evenings signals the start of sweater weather, boots, and everything else we love about this new season. For me, it is all of the above and of course, the annual Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites! (more…)
These shots were taken the same day as my torturedSoles shoot. We finished taking pictures early for that fabulous collaboration and decided to take advantage of the beautiful Fall weather by fitting in another heel/outfit combo. I chose the BCBGeneration Elle booties because they are so perfect for Fall! The burgundy hue is on trend and the peep toes make it a great transition bootie for cooler weather.(more…)
I always get nervous when I have to drive to unfamiliar places. Fortunately, it’s not as intimidating anymore with a GPS navigator and apps like Waze to direct me. I used both to guide me to my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Shawn, and cousin, Caroline’s house back in July. (more…)
I recently returned from my annual girls trip with my Forever BFF, Tammy. Adventure led us to New Orleans, LA this year. It was a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Tammy. I will share the details of this trip in a future blog post, of course. 😉 (more…)
Fall has arrived! I’m so excited for this time of year! It is my favorite season. Although, Summer’s embrace still lingers, hints of Fall are making their debut gradually. I can feel it in the cooler mornings and nights. I can see it at the stores as they display Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (already!) paraphernalia. And just last night as I drove home from work, I could smell the sweet scent of burning firewood in the air. This gradual changing of the seasons will soon gift us with the splendor of Fall foliage. I love watching the leaves paint the landscape in brilliant hues. It is something I look forward to every year. (more…)
What’s a Thanksgiving celebration without a little family fun? Ever since my brother got married, we have always teased him about not cooking a turkey. Instead he and his wife, Shannon, usually order a turkey dinner from their local grocery store. Perish the thought…especially if you grew up in an Italian household like we did. (more…)
Due to the rain, we remained local for this photo shoot. Dad and I drove to the Thomas Stone House in Port Tobacco, MD. If you’re not familiar with the name, you’re not alone. When I first moved to Southern Maryland, I had no idea who Thomas Stone was either. However, I quickly learned that Thomas Stone was one of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence. That is quite an accomplishment for a humble planter and lawyer. (more…)
