After the Bar Mitvah I wrote about last week, my dad and I spent the rest of the afternoon taking blog pictures.  To take full advantage of time and weather, we take pictures for 3-4 weeks worth of blog entries.  It makes for a long afternoon, but it is well worth the effort to avoid having to take pictures every weekend.     (more…)

Top 5 Fall Faves

Crisp mornings and warm afternoons signal a change in season is imminent.   I don’t want Summer to end, but the beauty of Fall is alluring.  I love watching the leaves change colors as Summer becomes a distant memory.  For me, Fall truly arrives the moment I smell the sweet scent of firewood in the evening air.  Like an old friend returning, I welcome the familiar embrace. I don’t normally shop at DSW, but I had some time to spare one Saturday afternoon a few months ago.  After half an hour of browsing, I came across the Darron pumps.  The gold studs caught my eye.  It was a style I had seen before and craved, but could never find in my usual shopping places.  At the time, I thought I had found a hidden treasure and was ecstatic that they had my size!  I tried them on and loved them.  So, I scooped up the box and went straight to the register.  (more…)

For this heel/outfit combo, I can’t remember what came first:  the heels or the dress.  Whatever the sequence, I remember my satisfaction when I wore the look to a summer concert, of the boy-band variety, of course.  😉  This time around, it was summer fun at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA.     (more…)

I am excited to share the blog pics for this week because they were taken in San Diego, CA!  My BFF, Tammy, volunteered to be my photographer.  We had discussed locations for the shoot and initially we had planned to take shots in the desert, but we got sidetracked by a drag show. (more…)

In all my San Diego excitement, I forgot to mention where the pics for this week’s blog were taken:  The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.  The National Shrine is across the street from Catholic University and the Franciscan Monastery where my blog pics from the last three weeks were taken.

Before my San Diego trip in August, the last time I saw my best friend, Tammy, whom I’ve often talked about on this blog, was over ten years ago!  It’s hard for me to fathom the time that has passed.  Yet, it felt like no time had passed when we were reunited at my hotel.  Finally, face to face with my BFF and she looked as beautiful as when I last saw her.  We always joke it is the Asian gene that keeps us young (yes, we are both halfies!).  We hugged and began catching up while giggling like we used to when we were teenagers.  (more…)

Are you like me when it comes to shopping?  Sometimes, I buy too much!  Then, I lose track of the clothes I have bought only to discover them later with tags still on them.  My initial thought in these eureka moments?  “OMGOSH, I forgot I had these!”  Or, which is typical too, “What was I thinking?!”
