SURPRISE! Lizzy’s Latest is back! 😊 I guess by now, y’all are used to my inconsistent postings. I apologize for that. 2022 has been a very unusual year for me and my family. Two health crises, both unexpected, one resolved (thank God) and the other still uncertain, have dominated my family’s life this year. We’ve acclimated to our new normal, but it can still be scary at times. Yet, our faith is strong. And with faith, comes so much hope. (more…)
MERRY CHRISTMAS to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I can’t believe how fast December flew. It felt like just yesterday I was writing out Christmas cards. Now, I will enjoy “Midnight” Mass at 8PM this evening with my parents. Then after, I will be up late wrapping presents and baking my famous chocolate chip cookies.
My sister, Jeanette, and my brother, Michael, and his family will arrive tomorrow afternoon just in time for Dad’s legendary turkey feast and chocolate pudding pie – mont blanc, anyone? 😉 I can’t wait! It is such a joyous time of year for me and my family.
Yet, I also realize this time of year can be difficult and challenging for some. People who are alone and/or estranged from family and/or friends. I’ve had years like that in the past growing up and it’s not a good feeling. Long before my deeper conversion to my Catholic faith (read about it here), I was spiritually lost. I ignored the true meaning of Christmas and blamed God for whatever suffering I was struggling with, never looking myself in the mirror for the true architect of my misery…me. (more…)
I was like the little engine that could in October and then my little engine lost its steam in November. Oopsie…sorry! I guess y’all are getting used to my inconsistent posting these days. I committed to post at least once a month, but I missed my November deadline. I was not happy about that, but such is life sometimes. I’ve had quite the adventure these last several weeks. With spring in full swing and the weather staying consistently nice, the shopping bug hit me! I’ve been sooooooo good since Christmas and I gave up shopping for Lent. So, I was seriously itching for some retail therapy after Easter. I told myself I would remain disciplined, but then one pair of heels became two pairs of heels. Then, three pairs of heels became four pairs of heels. And after the fifth pair, I stopped counting. Sigh…so much for discipline! I confess, I’m a shoe addict! (more…)

Hello, my lovelies! I can’t tell you how excited I am to feature the INC Kenjay pumps on the blog. I’ve had the heels for some time now, but could not find the perfect outfit. This look came together a bit organically. I think I found the green coated jeans first and then the sweater, both from White House Black Market (on sale!). I wasn’t sure about the sweater because it is so voluminous and my petite frame always seems to drown in “big” tops. However, pics are always about the angles and Dad has become a bit of a pro at finding the right angles…or perhaps it’s me telling him to take more pics. Haha…sorry, Dad! We’ll just say it’s a combination of both. 😉 (more…)

Lizzy goes to the beach in this installment of Lizzy’s Latest! 😉 If you know me or have been following my blog, you know that I grew up on the beaches of San Diego. Some of my happiest childhood memories happened at the beach with my Forever BFF, Tammy. When we were younger, her dad used to take us and our brothers to the annual sandcastle competition at Imperial Beach. It was so much fun watching artists create spectacular works of art out of sand! When we were preteens, Tammy and I used to be dropped off at the beach where we would enjoy girl time and flirt with the cute boys…surfers for me and skaters for Tammy. Haha! (more…)
