Shoespiration – Naturalizer Jagger Boot

Surprise!  Lizzy’s Latest is featuring a lower-heeled boot on the blog.  This post is for all of you who love heels, but just can’t wear them.  The Jagger boot merges chic style with all day comfort.  My only gripe is that they are a bit heavy.  I tend to prefer lighter weight boots, but they are cozy for colder temperatures. HAPPY NEW YEAR to my family, friends, followers, and visitors!  I’m 30 days late with this post, but better late than never, right?!  😉  My regulars are used to my consistent inconsistent posting schedule.  However, I did commit to at least one post a month, so here we go!  😊 (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – 2018 Top 5 Fall Favorites

It is that time of year again when summer’s farewell lingers like the final notes of a beautifully composed piece of music.  The ambience is sublime and filled with mirthful memories of time well spent.  Holding on for one more hurrah and always one more until there is no more.  Parting is such sweet sorrow tempered by fall’s inevitable tomorrow.  Enticed, fall captivates with colorful landscapes and dancing leaves that fall from above.  The aroma of burning wood on crisp evenings signals the start of sweater weather, boots, and everything else we love about this new season.  For me, it is all of the above and of course, the annual Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites!   (more…)

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!  Today we celebrate America’s birthday.  It was 242 years ago today that the original 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence.  Today, it is a day for family and friends to come together and celebrate our nation’s birthday with barbecues, parades, concerts, fireworks, and the like.  My family and I will certainly be participating in the festivities.  🙂 (more…)

Richmond, VA – Maymont Mansion – Thankful

When the New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) reunited back in late 2007, I was one of the lucky fans who saw them live on the Today Show on May 16, 2008, their first live concert since 1994!  Now an adult, it was exciting and surreal to watch the boyband of my childhood performing right in front of me.  Donnie Wahlberg (my favorite New Kid) flashed his million dollar smile at me and my heart raced as I smiled back. The Gettysburg National Military Park is one of my favorite Civil War battlefields to explore.  It was in this area that the Battle of Gettysburg was fought over a 3-day period in July of 1863.  For this photo shoot, we headed to the Pennsylvania State Memorial located at Cemetery Ridge, the primary defensive position of the Union Army. About one year ago, I published a post called “Confessions of a New Blogger.”  In it, I described my journey as a first time blogger and the realization that maintaining a weekly blog would be unsustainable given my other passions and desire to spend time with family and friends. (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Steve Madden Slithur Caged Sandals

wed-1-img_1358-finalThis photo shoot continues our tour of the Petersburg National Battlefield.  This time we took pictures in an area where a handful of men from the Union army clandestinely dug a mine that reached the Confederate lines.  Once under the Confederate position, the mine was filled with explosives and detonated!  The explosion caused the Earth to tremble propelling Confederate men and artillery into the air and creating a huge crater that was at least 30 feet deep and approximately 120 feet wide!  (more…)
