Two Fridays ago, my beloved Sony VAIO laptop died. With no laptop, this post remained in limbo. I spent all last week researching new laptops and so much has changed in the last 10 years! Being a creature of habit, change doesn’t always come easy to me. Sigh… (more…)
I am excited to share the blog pics for this week because they were taken in San Diego, CA! My BFF, Tammy, volunteered to be my photographer. We had discussed locations for the shoot and initially we had planned to take shots in the desert, but we got sidetracked by a drag show. (more…)
In all my San Diego excitement, I forgot to mention where the pics for this week’s blog were taken: The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. The National Shrine is across the street from Catholic University and the Franciscan Monastery where my blog pics from the last three weeks were taken.
Before my San Diego trip in August, the last time I saw my best friend, Tammy, whom I’ve often talked about on this blog, was over ten years ago! It’s hard for me to fathom the time that has passed. Yet, it felt like no time had passed when we were reunited at my hotel. Finally, face to face with my BFF and she looked as beautiful as when I last saw her. We always joke it is the Asian gene that keeps us young (yes, we are both halfies!). We hugged and began catching up while giggling like we used to when we were teenagers. (more…)
Are you like me when it comes to shopping? Sometimes, I buy too much! Then, I lose track of the clothes I have bought only to discover them later with tags still on them. My initial thought in these eureka moments? “OMGOSH, I forgot I had these!” Or, which is typical too, “What was I thinking?!”

I bought mine in “bright floral multi” and they are beautiful with purple and yellow with specks of orangey brown. I knew these would be the heels paired with the joggers. Now if only I had a top… (more…)
My love of Civil War history began in 2011 after hearing a radio advertisement for events celebrating the Sesquicentennial Commemoration of the Battle of Bull Run. The ad roused my curiosity and I began researching Civil War history. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the stories of North and South grip my heart and engage me to do more than just read about the Civil War, but to experience it too. (more…)
As you can imagine, one of my favorite things to do is peruse shoes online. I actually prefer to buy online because in most instances, the shoes come directly from the warehouse. I like the feeling of knowing my feet are the first to slip into the shoes. The worst feeling is getting new shoes that have been tried on and stretched. Gross. (more…)
In a June post, I spoke about being complimented on a pair of heels I was wearing while in line for Communion. What I didn’t mention was that I put these sandals in a donation bag. I decided to wear them one more time because I could not find anything else to wear. Go figure! The compliment saved these shoes and now they are being featured on the blog this week. (more…)
