My enthusiasm for Civil War history made Richmond, VA a frequent place of adventure for me and my dad. Yet, Richmond boasts Revolutionary War history as well! One weekend, we stumbled upon this sign at The Poe Museum. (more…)
I’m slowly acclimating back to blogging after so much time off. It’s all coming back to me now. 😉 In my previous post, I mentioned I wasn’t sure if I would do a review of these heels because I’d like to move on to fall shoes. In the end, I decided to write a review post because I had more pics in this shoot to share. So, why not?(more…)
SURPRISE! Lizzy’s Latest is back! 😊 I guess by now, y’all are used to my inconsistent postings. I apologize for that. 2022 has been a very unusual year for me and my family. Two health crises, both unexpected, one resolved (thank God) and the other still uncertain, have dominated my family’s life this year. We’ve acclimated to our new normal, but it can still be scary at times. Yet, our faith is strong. And with faith, comes so much hope. (more…)
MERRY CHRISTMAS to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I can’t believe how fast December flew. It felt like just yesterday I was writing out Christmas cards. Now, I will enjoy “Midnight” Mass at 8PM this evening with my parents. Then after, I will be up late wrapping presents and baking my famous chocolate chip cookies.
My sister, Jeanette, and my brother, Michael, and his family will arrive tomorrow afternoon just in time for Dad’s legendary turkey feast and chocolate pudding pie – mont blanc, anyone? 😉 I can’t wait! It is such a joyous time of year for me and my family.
Yet, I also realize this time of year can be difficult and challenging for some. People who are alone and/or estranged from family and/or friends. I’ve had years like that in the past growing up and it’s not a good feeling. Long before my deeper conversion to my Catholic faith (read about it here), I was spiritually lost. I ignored the true meaning of Christmas and blamed God for whatever suffering I was struggling with, never looking myself in the mirror for the true architect of my misery…me. (more…)
These shots were taken the same day as my torturedSoles shoot. We finished taking pictures early for that fabulous collaboration and decided to take advantage of the beautiful Fall weather by fitting in another heel/outfit combo. I chose the BCBGeneration Elle booties because they are so perfect for Fall! The burgundy hue is on trend and the peep toes make it a great transition bootie for cooler weather.(more…)
I always get nervous when I have to drive to unfamiliar places. Fortunately, it’s not as intimidating anymore with a GPS navigator and apps like Waze to direct me. I used both to guide me to my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Shawn, and cousin, Caroline’s house back in July. (more…)
Fall has arrived! I’m so excited for this time of year! It is my favorite season. Although, Summer’s embrace still lingers, hints of Fall are making their debut gradually. I can feel it in the cooler mornings and nights. I can see it at the stores as they display Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (already!) paraphernalia. And just last night as I drove home from work, I could smell the sweet scent of burning firewood in the air. This gradual changing of the seasons will soon gift us with the splendor of Fall foliage. I love watching the leaves paint the landscape in brilliant hues. It is something I look forward to every year. (more…)
I am a practicing Roman Catholic. So, imagine my curiosity and interest when my good friend from work, Anna, invited me and my dad to her son, David’s, Bar Mitvah at the Magen David Sephardic Congregation located in Rockville, Maryland. (more…)
The color pink always brings me back to my childhood. Although I was a tomboy, I did have my girly side. Still do. So it is no surprise, being the nostalgic girl that I am, pink is still one of my favorite colors. (more…)
I am still very close to my childhood friends. In fact, whenever I go back to San Diego, we make it a point to have an elementary school reunion to celebrate our enduring friendship. (more…)
