Richmond, VA – Maymont – New Orleans, LA Adventure Highlights: Part 1

When my Forever BFF, Tammy, and I were discussing possible destinations for our girls trip last year, she suggested New Orleans, LA.  Although, I had visited the city several times over the years, Tammy had never been there.  She had only heard good stories about it from her late friend, Carlos.     (more…)

Shoespiration – White House Black Market Tassel Tie Heels

Oh my goodness!  Where to begin?  I apologize for my extended absence from the blog, but life got busy.  I’ve been traveling too.  I took my niece, Kristin, on our annual girl’s trip to Hersheypark in Hershey, PA.  We had a great time and I will write more about this in a future blog post.   (more…)

Solomon’s Island, Maryland – Andrew’s Making Money

Hersheypark amusement park in Hershey, PA is such a happy place.  I was so excited to return last July with my Godson, Andrew.  Earlier in the summer, I had taken his sister, Kristin, to the park and we had a wonderful time.  This time around, I looked forward to riding more roller coasters because Andrew is taller than Kristin.  🙂

Andrew’s a Hershey’s, one candy taller than Kristin. 🙂

Shoespiration – Vince Camuto Windy Moto Boots

Winter has overstayed its welcome here in the DC area in my humble opinion.  On the first day of Spring, we got hit with a snow storm that dumped several inches of snow.  March has yet to see a 60-degree day here and I am just annoyed.  Sigh! (more…)

Southern Maryland – Out of the Mouths of Babes

Every Christmas, I look forward to spending time with my Godsons, Andrew and Joshua, and my niece, Kristin.  Usually, I get the two older kids, Andrew and Kristin, for a couple of days and we go on an adventure.  Last year we went to ICE and this year, we went ice skating.  I was so excited to share this experience with them because I loved ice skating as a kid.  My Forever BFF, Tammy, and I would spend many Friday nights at the ice skating rink at La Jolla’s University Town Center (UTC) flirting with the cute guys as we skated to our favorite songs. Alexandria, VA: Fort Ward – Farewell my Faithful Friend

This Christmas was especially meaningful to me.  I was enjoying the company of family and creating precious memories, but also grieving my dear friend and Manager, Anna, who was tragically killed in a tour bus crash in Mexico days before Christmas along with her 11-year old son, Daniel, and her recently widowed mother.  Anna’s husband, Moises, and 15-year old son, David, survived, thankfully. Southern Maryland – Fearless

I always get nervous when I have to drive to unfamiliar places.  Fortunately, it’s not as intimidating anymore with a GPS navigator and apps like Waze to direct me.  I used both to guide me to my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Shawn, and cousin, Caroline’s house back in July. (more…)

Shoespiration – White House Black Market Ruby Suede Pumps

I recently returned from my annual girls trip with my Forever BFF, Tammy.  Adventure led us to New Orleans, LA this year.  It was a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Tammy.  I will share the details of this trip in a future blog post, of course.  😉

Collaboration – torturedSoles

I’ve always adored traditional pumps.  I find them beautifully timeless and fiercely feminine.  Over the years, I have tried to wear them, but my narrow heels would always slip out of the heels causing me great frustration and embarrassment.  Eventually, I discovered heel inserts and thought they would be the solution to my narrow heels.  The drug store brands did solve the heel issue, but their bulk made the toe box extremely tight and painful.  For a while, I endured the pain for fashion’s sake, but the nightly toe cramps finally convinced me that traditional pumps were simply not compatible with my narrow heels.  Sigh…

Unable to wear traditional pumps, my feelings start with sadness…

Then, evolve to utter frustration!

Richmond, VA – Maymont Mansion – Thankful

When the New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) reunited back in late 2007, I was one of the lucky fans who saw them live on the Today Show on May 16, 2008, their first live concert since 1994!  Now an adult, it was exciting and surreal to watch the boyband of my childhood performing right in front of me.  Donnie Wahlberg (my favorite New Kid) flashed his million dollar smile at me and my heart raced as I smiled back.
