Lizzy’s Latest – Father’s Day Edition

Lizzy’s Latest Note:  This post was supposed to go live on Sunday, but I had ongoing internet issues.  Comcast is the WORST!  Absolutely unreliable and I plan to cancel my service soon.  As such, my Father’s Day post is a bit belated.

Greetings, my faithful friends and followers.  I must apologize for my absence, but life got busy (again!).  Adding to the delay was a technical issue that briefly took my website offline.  I didn’t even realize my website was offline until a few days ago when I tried to update it and couldn’t get in.  It was the worst feeling; my heart sank.  So much of my heart and soul goes into Lizzy’s Latest.  It is a passion of mine because I enjoy sharing heels and history with all of you.  🙂 (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Collaboration: Grace Karin

A few months ago, a representative from Grace Karin contacted me about a fashion collaboration.  Intrigued, I did a quick search on the company and was pleasantly surprised to see beautiful dresses on their site.  What was even more surprising was how inexpensive the dresses were.  This, of course, made me question the quality of the dresses.  However, my curiosity won over and I agreed to the fashion collaboration.  (more…)

Shoespiration – Steve Madden Sidney Dress Sandals

August was full of adventure for me!  I was in Savannah, GA earlier in the month and had a wonderful time.  I will detail that trip in a future blog post.  I also spent time with my two Godsons and niece in SC mid-August.  We had an 80s themed party which I will also share in a future blog post.  By the end of August, we were back to photo shooting for the blog.  I cannot wait to feature that post because it deals with the legend of Moll Dyer, a local woman who lived a century or so ago and was rumored to be a witch.  Perfect post for October!  😉  (more…)

Shoespiration – White House Black Market Tassel Tie Heels

Oh my goodness!  Where to begin?  I apologize for my extended absence from the blog, but life got busy.  I’ve been traveling too.  I took my niece, Kristin, on our annual girl’s trip to Hersheypark in Hershey, PA.  We had a great time and I will write more about this in a future blog post.   (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Madden Girl Digitize Caged Rhinestone Dress Sandals

This summer I got into the jogger pants craze.  I found these orange cropped joggers at Macy’s.  I bought them about two months ago, but never wore them because I could not find a matching top or heels.

Then, while perusing shoes on the Macy’s website, I stumbled upon these Madden Girl Digitize heels.  They are round toe sandals with rhinestone accents.  I bought mine in “bright floral multi” and they are beautiful with purple and yellow with specks of orangey brown.  I knew these would be the heels paired with the joggers.  Now if only I had a top… (more…)

My love of Civil War history began in 2011 after hearing a radio advertisement for events celebrating the Sesquicentennial Commemoration of the Battle of Bull Run.  The ad roused my curiosity and I began researching Civil War history.  As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the stories of North and South grip my heart and engage me to do more than just read about the Civil War, but to experience it too.  (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – GUESS Carlene Fringe Ankle Strap Dress Sandals

My love affair with fringe continues.  This time, the fringe is braided, loose, and carefree.  Swishing with every move, it adds a playful personality to the GUESS Carlene sandals.  I also love the multi-row ankle strap.  These standout details are definitely eye catching.  It’s hard not to feel a “notice me” vibe when sashaying in these boho, flirty, simple, sexy heels!     (more…)

Malvern Hill Battlefield – Heels on the Battlefield

People are always surprised when they learn that I love Civil War and Ancient Rome history.  How is it that a girl who loves fashion also loves exploring battlefields and ancient ruins?  It reminds me of the time when my best friend, Tammy, and I used to ponder how girls who love boy bands could also love rock bands?  To us, liking rock bands seemed like such a betrayal to our favorite boy band.  So, we just didn’t.  Yet, music has a way of capturing hearts and minds and we eventually came to appreciate all music.

What is Instagram etiquette?  Whenever I get a new follower, I often wonder if I’m supposed to follow back even if the follower’s “brand” is completely different from my own.  Initially, I followed followers back out of courtesy.  Then, this started happening.  With some followers, soon after I started following back, the follower would un-follow me.  Huh?!  (more…)
