While driving home one night a few weekends ago, I entered my neighborhood and a familiar scent of burning wood wafted into my car. I breathed it in with a smile and joyous anticipation of the new season. I LOVE fall! It is my favorite season. The weather is as perfect as weather can be in the DMV. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, and crisp evenings. I love that chill in the air and the contentment I feel when I break out a long cardi to blanket me in warmth. I’m looking forward to fall foliage, one of the best attractions of the season. Viewing a panorama of colors is delight to my eyes. The leaves, so brilliant yet fleeting, remind me of life and how it is so important to cherish every moment. Lately, it seems every weekend I plan to take pictures, the weather turns cold. The weekend of this photo shoot was no exception. The Gettysburg National Military Park is one of my favorite Civil War battlefields to explore. It was in this area that the Battle of Gettysburg was fought over a 3-day period in July of 1863. For this photo shoot, we headed to the Pennsylvania State Memorial located at Cemetery Ridge, the primary defensive position of the Union Army. (more…)

My Forever BFF, Tammy, can be quite humorous. From the moment I picked her up at the airport, we were in stitches. She was telling me about her flight and her long delay at the Houston, TX airport. There, she was speaking with an individual to pass time. This guy asked her where she was headed and she said with cautious confidence, “Charlotte, South Carolina!” However, from the look on the man’s face, she knew she said something incorrect. So, she reacted with, “I think.” The guy snickered and Tammy added, “North Carolina? South Carolina? I don’t know! I just know it’s one of the Carolinas!” 🙂 (more…)

I initially went with red heels to match the denim dress I wore in this photo shoot. Coordinating red heels with blue attire is a common tendency of mine. I like having that pop of red. 🙂 Then, I opened my first delivery of Spring/Summer shoes a few weekends ago and set my eyes on the Marc Fisher Braelin sandals. The pink is even prettier in person! I could imagine wearing these sandals on a date. 🙂 They are so feminine. The braided details are eye-catching and add a nice texture to this shoe.
