This Christmas was especially meaningful to me. I was enjoying the company of family and creating precious memories, but also grieving my dear friend and Manager, Anna, who was tragically killed in a tour bus crash in Mexico days before Christmas along with her 11-year old son, Daniel, and her recently widowed mother. Fall has arrived! I’m so excited for this time of year! It is my favorite season. Although, Summer’s embrace still lingers, hints of Fall are making their debut gradually. I can feel it in the cooler mornings and nights. I can see it at the stores as they display Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (already!) paraphernalia. And just last night as I drove home from work, I could smell the sweet scent of burning firewood in the air. This gradual changing of the seasons will soon gift us with the splendor of Fall foliage. I love watching the leaves paint the landscape in brilliant hues. It is something I look forward to every year. (more…)
When we shot this photo shoot a few weekends ago, it was meant for a mini blog post. My intent was to have a new segment on the blog that would feature fashion inspiration in between full blog posts. It would be my way to stay connected with all of you in the interim because publishing monthly sometimes feels like too long of an absence, at least to me. However, we took so many great shots that I decided to bump the heel/outfit combo I initially had for February and go with this heel/outfit combo instead. At dinner with my parents a month ago, Mom asked if I could print a Kohls coupon for her. I assured her I would, and thought nothing more of it. As we continued talking, Mom started nudging Dad and giggling. I could tell Dad did not want to acknowledge what was unspoken between them. Due to the rain, we remained local for this photo shoot. Dad and I drove to the Thomas Stone House in Port Tobacco, MD. If you’re not familiar with the name, you’re not alone. When I first moved to Southern Maryland, I had no idea who Thomas Stone was either. However, I quickly learned that Thomas Stone was one of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence. That is quite an accomplishment for a humble planter and lawyer. (more…)
It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week! I’ve been in a festive mood since the beginning of November. I was at the mall and Hallmark was having a special on Christmas cards. I could not help myself, I purchased two boxes of cards knowing I would probably only need one. (more…)
The Gettysburg National Military Park is one of my favorite Civil War battlefields to explore. It was in this area that the Battle of Gettysburg was fought over a 3-day period in July of 1863. For this photo shoot, we headed to the Pennsylvania State Memorial located at Cemetery Ridge, the primary defensive position of the Union Army. (more…)
