It is that time of year again when summer’s farewell lingers like the final notes of a beautifully composed piece of music. The ambience is sublime and filled with mirthful memories of time well spent. Holding on for one more hurrah and always one more until there is no more. Parting is such sweet sorrow tempered by fall’s inevitable tomorrow. Enticed, fall captivates with colorful landscapes and dancing leaves that fall from above. The aroma of burning wood on crisp evenings signals the start of sweater weather, boots, and everything else we love about this new season. For me, it is all of the above and of course, the annual Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites! (more…)
August was full of adventure for me! I was in Savannah, GA earlier in the month and had a wonderful time. I will detail that trip in a future blog post. I also spent time with my two Godsons and niece in SC mid-August. We had an 80s themed party which I will also share in a future blog post. By the end of August, we were back to photo shooting for the blog. I cannot wait to feature that post because it deals with the legend of Moll Dyer, a local woman who lived a century or so ago and was rumored to be a witch. Perfect post for October! 😉 (more…)
When my Forever BFF, Tammy, and I were discussing possible destinations for our girls trip last year, she suggested New Orleans, LA. Although, I had visited the city several times over the years, Tammy had never been there. She had only heard good stories about it from her late friend, Carlos. (more…)
Oh my goodness! Where to begin? I apologize for my extended absence from the blog, but life got busy. I’ve been traveling too. I took my niece, Kristin, on our annual girl’s trip to Hersheypark in Hershey, PA. We had a great time and I will write more about this in a future blog post. (more…)
Hersheypark amusement park in Hershey, PA is such a happy place. I was so excited to return last July with my Godson, Andrew. Earlier in the summer, I had taken his sister, Kristin, to the park and we had a wonderful time. This time around, I looked forward to riding more roller coasters because Andrew is taller than Kristin. 🙂
Andrew’s a Hershey’s, one candy taller than Kristin. 🙂
Winter has overstayed its welcome here in the DC area in my humble opinion. On the first day of Spring, we got hit with a snow storm that dumped several inches of snow. March has yet to see a 60-degree day here and I am just annoyed. Sigh! (more…)
Every Christmas, I look forward to spending time with my Godsons, Andrew and Joshua, and my niece, Kristin. Usually, I get the two older kids, Andrew and Kristin, for a couple of days and we go on an adventure. Last year we went to ICE and this year, we went ice skating. I was so excited to share this experience with them because I loved ice skating as a kid. My Forever BFF, Tammy, and I would spend many Friday nights at the ice skating rink at La Jolla’s University Town Center (UTC) flirting with the cute guys as we skated to our favorite songs.(more…)
This Christmas was especially meaningful to me. I was enjoying the company of family and creating precious memories, but also grieving my dear friend and Manager, Anna, who was tragically killed in a tour bus crash in Mexico days before Christmas along with her 11-year old son, Daniel, and her recently widowed mother. Anna’s husband, Moises, and 15-year old son, David, survived, thankfully. (more…)
I always get nervous when I have to drive to unfamiliar places. Fortunately, it’s not as intimidating anymore with a GPS navigator and apps like Waze to direct me. I used both to guide me to my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Shawn, and cousin, Caroline’s house back in July. (more…)
I recently returned from my annual girls trip with my Forever BFF, Tammy. Adventure led us to New Orleans, LA this year. It was a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Tammy. I will share the details of this trip in a future blog post, of course. 😉 (more…)
