Shoespiration – Aldo Dadossa Cut Out Pumps

We were supposed to get a mix of snow and rain this weekend, but fortunately, that did not come to fruition.  Instead, the day was brisk.  Temperatures remained in the 40s with a mix of sun and clouds.  Brrr!!! (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest Paranormal Encounter with the Iron Brigade

It was a brisk autumn day at the Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD on November 3, 2018.  After an afternoon of photo shooting around the main areas of the battlefield, we had one more heel/outfit combo to fit in before sunset.  It was a little after 5PM and we were not sure where to go next for the final photo shoot.  With sunlight quickly dissipating, we found a patch of road lined with historic fencing.  It was a lonely road save for a passing car or two; perfect for an impromptu photo shoot. Haunted History – The Legend of Moll Dyer – the Witch of Leonardtown, MD

Perhaps I would have reconsidered the brazenness of this pose had I been more familiar with Moll Dyer’s story.  I contacted the guru of Southern Maryland, my best friend, William, for more insight.  His tongue and cheek response: (more…)

Shoespiration – White House Black Market Ruby Suede Pumps

I recently returned from my annual girls trip with my Forever BFF, Tammy.  Adventure led us to New Orleans, LA this year.  It was a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Tammy.  I will share the details of this trip in a future blog post, of course.  😉

Collaboration – torturedSoles

I’ve always adored traditional pumps.  I find them beautifully timeless and fiercely feminine.  Over the years, I have tried to wear them, but my narrow heels would always slip out of the heels causing me great frustration and embarrassment.  Eventually, I discovered heel inserts and thought they would be the solution to my narrow heels.  The drug store brands did solve the heel issue, but their bulk made the toe box extremely tight and painful.  For a while, I endured the pain for fashion’s sake, but the nightly toe cramps finally convinced me that traditional pumps were simply not compatible with my narrow heels.  Sigh…

Unable to wear traditional pumps, my feelings start with sadness…

Then, evolve to utter frustration!

Lizzy’s Latest – Nine West Everafter Fringed Two-Piece Pumps

The Nine West Everafter pumps are so chic!  The first thing that caught my eye was the fringe detail at the ankle.  Yes, two years later, my love affair with fringe continues.  😉  Fringe is definitely still trending in 2017 and when paired with approximately 4-inch stiletto heels, adds a sexy and playful vibe, in my opinion.  🙂   (more…)

Coltons Point – Andrew’s First Holy Communion

One of the joys I’ve experienced as a Godmother is helping my Godson, Andrew, strengthen his faith.  I enjoy taking him to Mass every chance I get and sharing my Catholic faith with him. (more…)

Shoespiration – BCBGeneration Darron Two-Tone Patent Pumps

Welcome to another segment of Shoespiration!  🙂  These heels were featured on the blog in the Fall of 2015.  They are an imitation of the Rockstud pumps made famous by Italian fashion designer, Valentino.  The gold studs are so edgy and I always feel so sexy when I wear these heels…which is often!  😉  I do have one disappointment with these pumps and that is a couple of the studs have popped out from time to time over the years.  Fortunately, the few times this has happened, I was aware.  So, I am constantly checking to make sure all my studs are accounted for when I do wear these heels. Lizzy’s Latest – Michael Kors Ciara Embellished Suede Slingback Pumps

There have been times over the last year when a lack of photo shoot planning led to a reliance on spontaneity.  This was one of those weekends.  Call it procrastination or laziness, perhaps a little of both, but I had no particular destination in mind other than it had to be local.  Dad suggested DC, but I was lukewarm to the idea.  The thought of taking pics in a crowd didn’t appeal to me and I was also thinking about my dad’s aversion to jam-packed places.  The last thing I wanted was an aggravated photographer.  😉  However, with no other option, DC became the default location. Washington, DC – Judiciary Square – A First for Everything

Have you ever had the experience of being behind someone in line whose credit card was declined?  You patiently wait as the person insists there must be some mistake!  Ultimately, the person either buys less with cash or leaves empty handed.  Either outcome makes for a very awkward situation.    (more…)
