Coltons Point – Andrew’s First Holy Communion

One of the joys I’ve experienced as a Godmother is helping my Godson, Andrew, strengthen his faith.  I enjoy taking him to Mass every chance I get and sharing my Catholic faith with him. (more…)

Shoespiration – BCBGeneration Darron Two-Tone Patent Pumps

Welcome to another segment of Shoespiration!  🙂  These heels were featured on the blog in the Fall of 2015.  They are an imitation of the Rockstud pumps made famous by Italian fashion designer, Valentino.  The gold studs are so edgy and I always feel so sexy when I wear these heels…which is often!  😉  I do have one disappointment with these pumps and that is a couple of the studs have popped out from time to time over the years.  Fortunately, the few times this has happened, I was aware.  So, I am constantly checking to make sure all my studs are accounted for when I do wear these heels. The Battle of the Crater, Petersburg, VA

The Battle of the Crater fascinates me because it was filled with political intrigue, courage, and sorrow.  It was a battle that culminated in a spectacular explosion resulting in death, destruction, and deep regret.  Union General Ulysses S. Grant lamented that it was “the saddest affair I have witnessed in the war.”  When you consider all the atrocities Grant witnessed, that’s quite a statement. (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Michael Kors Ciara Embellished Suede Slingback Pumps

There have been times over the last year when a lack of photo shoot planning led to a reliance on spontaneity.  This was one of those weekends.  Call it procrastination or laziness, perhaps a little of both, but I had no particular destination in mind other than it had to be local.  Dad suggested DC, but I was lukewarm to the idea.  The thought of taking pics in a crowd didn’t appeal to me and I was also thinking about my dad’s aversion to jam-packed places.  The last thing I wanted was an aggravated photographer.  😉  However, with no other option, DC became the default location. Washington, DC – Judiciary Square – A First for Everything

Have you ever had the experience of being behind someone in line whose credit card was declined?  You patiently wait as the person insists there must be some mistake!  Ultimately, the person either buys less with cash or leaves empty handed.  Either outcome makes for a very awkward situation.    (more…)

Shoespiration: Vince Camuto Welton Moto Boots

Now that my shoe blog is monthly, the time in between posts sometimes feels like too long of an absence from all of you, at least to me.  As such, I’ve launched a new segment on my blog called, “Shoespiration.”  🙂  Its intent is to fill the fashion void that lingers between my main blog posts.  It’s a mini blog post; a sort of fashion fix if you will to get us through the month.  😉 (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Marc Fisher Truthe Suede Lace-Up Pumps

Lately, it seems every weekend I plan to take pictures, the weather turns cold.  The weekend of this photo shoot was no exception.  The temperature stayed in the 30s and the wind was gusty for the majority of the shoot.  However, with St. Patrick’s Day in March, I was determined to share this cute asymmetrical green skirt.  🙂 (more…)

Smallwood State Park – New Beginnings

A few weeks ago, Feedspot, an online RSS feed reader, compiled a list of the Top 75 Shoe Websites and Blogs on the Web based on their index using search and social metrics.  To my surprise and delight, Lizzy’s Latest made this list!  My little blog came in at number 51 with plenty of room to grow! 🙂 (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Cameron Silver for Nine West Painted Heart Boots

When we shot this photo shoot a few weekends ago, it was meant for a mini blog post.  My intent was to have a new segment on the blog that would feature fashion inspiration in between full blog posts.  It would be my way to stay connected with all of you in the interim because publishing monthly sometimes feels like too long of an absence, at least to me.  However, we took so many great shots that I decided to bump the heel/outfit combo I initially had for February and go with this heel/outfit combo instead.  And just FYI…the new segment is still in the works.  So, stay tuned! (more…)

Southern Maryland – Vanishing Santa!

At dinner with my parents a month ago, Mom asked if I could print a Kohls coupon for her.  I assured her I would, and thought nothing more of it.  As we continued talking, Mom started nudging Dad and giggling.  I could tell Dad did not want to acknowledge what was unspoken between them.  Of course, that piqued my curiosity prompting me to ask: (more…)
