Lizzy’s Latest – North Beach, MD – America 250 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy Fourth of July, my family, friends, and followers!!!  America’s Semiquincentennial is more than a milestone, it’s a moment to pause and feel the weight, wonder, and responsibility of 250 years of freedom!  It encourages us to look back to that summer day in 1776 when 56 men representing the 13 original colonies gathered in Philadelphia and signed a document that would change the course of human history. They pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to declare independence from the British Empire and its monarch, King George III, knowing full well that the price of failure would be ruin.  Yet our Founding Fathers signed anyway.  That willingness to stand for something greater than themselves, that courage, is the spark that ignited the American story.

Thomas Jefferson defined that spark by authoring the Declaration of Independence.  His assertion that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights wasn’t just philosophy, it was a promise.

And James Madison, Father of the Constitution, with his brilliant mind and steady conviction, helped shape how that promise would function in the real world. Through the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, Madison built the framework that protects our liberties, restrains government power, and ensures that freedom is not just an ideal but a lived reality.

Those core freedoms under the First Amendment, ensures freedom of religion, speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the government. These core freedoms are the reason the United States stands as the greatest nation in the history of the world. Not because we are perfect, but because we are free!

Today, 250 years later, the American spirit is still alive and well!  You can see it in every patriotic, God‑fearing American who loves this country.  You can feel it in the pride of a veteran saluting the flag, in the determination of a small‑business owner unlocking their shop at dawn, and in the quiet faith of families who pray for a better tomorrow and work hard to build it.  Patriotic Americans have an attitude of gratitude paying it forward every chance they get.

A perfect example of this is of foreigners visiting the United States for the first to catch the 2026 FIFA World Cup that is being played across 11 cities.  So many of them were shocked by our kindness and hospitality.  A constant stream of videos on social media feature foreigners raving about our people, food, and way of life.  They LOVE America!  And being a proud American, it warms my heart to hear such testimonials because I’ve always known this to be true.  😊

The Semiquincentennial isn’t just a celebration of the past, it’s a reminder of who we are as Americans:  A free people; a hopeful people.  We are a nation that has weathered storms, risen from trials, and kept marching forward because freedom is worth defending. Our story that began in 1776 is still being written and every American has a role in carrying it into the next 250 years.

Let freedom ring!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!!

This photo shoot was taken in North Beach, MD, a few weeks ago.  It’s a hidden gem we discovered while searching for beach locations near home and with colorful backgrounds.  North Beach popped up and we headed there to explore it.  It’s a small beach in Calvert County, MD and in a quaint little town.  Everyone we met was so friendly!  I had forgotten to bring my American flags for this photo shoot and a guy named, Harley (I think…), offered me the flags from his anitique shop:  Nice & Fleazy Antiques .  So, the flags you see in these pics are from the Nice & Fleazy Antiques.  🙂  I am so grateful for Harley’s generosity because a 4th of July photo shoot needs American flags.  🙂

How is your summer going?  I know I don’t post as often as I’d like to and if you’re still following my blog, I truly appreciate it!  I do have lots of content, just not so much time anymore.  Sigh…but, I will try to post more than twice a year in 2026!  🙂

My summer is going by fast!  I took the week off to spend time with my Godson, Josh, and niece, Kristin, this week.  I will tell you that story in a future blog post.  On Thursday, I took the kids into DC to check out the sites and visit the Great American State Fair.  We didn’t have much time left, but we did check out the NC exhibit featuring Austin Dillon’s No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet NASCAR stock car.  It was pretty cool!  We also took pics, of course.  The followig pic is of me and the kids.  Kristin is taller than me now and Josh is growing too!  It was a scorcher that day!  Heat index was over 100 degrees!

We also took a walk to the Lincoln Memorial and checked out the Reflecting Pool.  It looks magnificent!

Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July weekend!  Looking forward to when we meet next.  🙂  Until then, enjoy the pics!  Lizzy’s Latest is featuring the I.N.C. International Concepts Ginny strappy stiletto sandals.  They were a breeze to walk in and at a comfortable heel height of approximately 3.75 inches, my favorite height for heels.  I bought them last year from Macy’s and it looks like the red is not available, but they have other colors like white still available.

Style with a Smile.

XoXo,

Lizzy
