Is it just me or are you still scrambling to get “everything” done before Christmas?  Time always escapes me this time of year, but even more so this year!  With only 4 days left until Christmas, I’ve yet to send out Christmas cards.  (more…)

wed-1-img_3021-finalDue to the rain, we remained local for this photo shoot.  Dad and I drove to the Thomas Stone House in Port Tobacco, MD.  If you’re not familiar with the name, you’re not alone.  When I first moved to Southern Maryland, I had no idea who Thomas Stone was either.  However, I quickly learned that Thomas Stone was one of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence.  That is quite an accomplishment for a humble planter and lawyer. It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week!  I’ve been in a festive mood since the beginning of November.  I was at the mall and Hallmark was having a special on Christmas cards.  I could not help myself, I purchased two boxes of cards knowing I would probably only need one. (more…)

I have to admit, I’ve lived in Southern Maryland for many years now and this was my first time in Solomons Island.  It is a quaint town on the Patuxent River/Chesapeake Bay.  Very picturesque.  It is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway and/or a photo shoot.  🙂 (more…)

Solomons Island – Savannah, GA Adventure Highlights: Part 3

Charleston, SC is a city I enjoy visiting because of its Civil War past.  So, it was only natural for my Forever BFF, Tammy, and I to take a day trip there.  We left Savannah early Sunday morning.  When we were about 20 miles into South Carolina, traffic came to a crawl on Interstate 95 North.  Tammy exclaimed:  “Look!” and we saw an exit ramp flooded with a submerged car!

St. Mary’s City Waterfront – Savannah, GA Adventure Highlights: Part 1

My Forever BFF, Tammy, can be quite humorous.  From the moment I picked her up at the airport, we were in stitches.  She was telling me about her flight and her long delay at the Houston, TX airport.  There, she was speaking with an individual to pass time.  This guy asked her where she was headed and she said with cautious confidence, “Charlotte, South Carolina!”  However, from the look on the man’s face, she knew she said something incorrect.  So, she reacted with, “I think.”  The guy snickered and Tammy added, “North Carolina?  South Carolina?  I don’t know!  I just know it’s one of the Carolinas!” 🙂 (more…)

In less than two weeks, my BFF, Tammy, and I will be on our way to Savannah, GA!  Hard to believe, but Tammy has never been to the East Coast or the South.  Her biggest anxiety is the thought of mosquitoes eating her alive because she is very prone to getting bit.  We always joke she has sweet blood!  😉  I told her not to worry because I will bring the bug spray.  🙂

WED 1 IMG_0032 FinalI used to have a fondness for wedge sandals until a conversation with a male friend had me re-thinking my attachment to them.  According to this fellow, wedge sandals are the antithesis of sexy.  Sexiness to him is a woman in stiletto heels.  Given my love of stilettos, I could not argue with him there.  However, his aversion to wedges almost ruined my affinity for them!  (more…)

Smallwood State Park – I Love You Mom!

1 20160430_150157 Final

When I was growing up, I was a handful.  My mom told me I was a wild child with mischievous tendencies and a stubborn will.  At a young age, I remember being a curious kid eager to explore the world despite my mom’s attempt to keep me within her parental boundaries.  My independent nature certainly kept my mom on her toes because any lapse in her attention often resulted in unintended situations.
