I’m slowly acclimating back to blogging after so much time off. It’s all coming back to me now. 😉 In my previous post, I mentioned I wasn’t sure if I would do a review of these heels because I’d like to move on to fall shoes. In the end, I decided to write a review post because I had more pics in this shoot to share. So, why not?(more…)
I was like the little engine that could in October and then my little engine lost its steam in November. Oopsie…sorry! I guess y’all are getting used to my inconsistent posting these days. I committed to post at least once a month, but I missed my November deadline. I was not happy about that, but such is life sometimes. All I can say is that I will do better and I appreciate your continued support for my little shoe blog. (more…)
While photo shooting a few weekends ago, we encountered this skeleton emerging from a manhole. It was part of a Halloween display decorating the town of La Plata, MD. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great prop poking tongue in cheek fun at all the shoe and feet enthusiasts out there. As a shoe blogger, you can imagine the types of messages I get from these admirers…perhaps, that will be a future blog post! 😉
In the meantime, enjoy this Halloween tale about an unsuspecting shoe blogger and a stalking manhole masher in Lizzy vs. the Manhole Masher!
The paranormal has always intrigued me and my dad. Although, we don’t participate in any occult practices, we love wandering around haunted places, taking ghost tours, and exploring graveyards and cemeteries to indulge our taphophile hearts. (more…)
While driving home one night a few weekends ago, I entered my neighborhood and a familiar scent of burning wood wafted into my car. I breathed it in with a smile and joyous anticipation of the new season. I LOVE fall! It is my favorite season. The weather is as perfect as weather can be in the DMV. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, and crisp evenings. I love that chill in the air and the contentment I feel when I break out a long cardi to blanket me in warmth. I’m looking forward to fall foliage, one of the best attractions of the season. Viewing a panorama of colors is delight to my eyes. The leaves, so brilliant yet fleeting, remind me of life and how it is so important to cherish every moment. With this new season comes the return of boots, the best fashion of the year, football, Halloween screams, and as always…drum roll please…Lizzy’s Latest annual Top 5 Fall Favorites! 🙂 (more…)
So, I have to give credit to my dad for suggesting a carnival photo shoot for the 4th of July. When we were throwing out ideas, I thought it would be cool to take a drive to Williamsburg, VA and check out the President Heads. When I showed Dad some pics, he scoffed and reminded me my stilettos would get dirty in the mud. OK … maybe, not my best idea, but I was also a little hesitant about the carnival thinking it would be too crowded. Dad assured me we would go before it opened and despite my reticence, I agreed for lack of a better location. (more…)
On this day two hundred forty five years ago, America’s founders declared independence from England. Today, Independence Day is a grand celebration and what better way to celebrate the 4th than going to a hometown carnival! (more…)
One night several months ago, my dad was flipping channels and came across an episode of “What on Earth” (Season 5, episode 4 for those interested) featuring a ghost fleet of ships in Mallows Bay here in Southern Maryland. It caught our attention because we had a couple photo shoots at Mallows Bay around this time last year. Click here for a look back at one of those shoots. (more…)
Savannah, GA captures my heart over and over again. Its beauty captivates me while its soul always draws me back. The last time I was there was in the summer of 2019. I arrived the evening before my parents got there and I felt so happy to be back in my favorite Southern city. (more…)
I’ve had quite the adventure these last several weeks. With spring in full swing and the weather staying consistently nice, the shopping bug hit me! I’ve been sooooooo good since Christmas and I gave up shopping for Lent. So, I was seriously itching for some retail therapy after Easter. I told myself I would remain disciplined, but then one pair of heels became two pairs of heels. Then, three pairs of heels became four pairs of heels. And after the fifth pair, I stopped counting. Sigh…so much for discipline! I confess, I’m a shoe addict! (more…)
