Shoespiration – Nine West Edyn Platform Sandals

A little insight to this shot. It was very sunny that day and sunny days aren’t ideal for good blog pictures. I was standing on that ledge for quite some time waiting for the sun to go behind the clouds.  Suddenly, a moment presented itself and it was so fleeting, I didn’t have time to fix my top. So, that’s why my hands are on my top like that. As soon as this shot was taken, the sun was blinding me again.  Sigh…so, we decided to move on.

I have been on a good streak with publishing content for the blog.  We’ve been so busy with photo shoots these last several months that I don’t know if I will have time to share all the summer heels I’d like to feature here before fall.  Plus, I have some Heels on the Battlefield posts in the works for all my history enthusiasts.  It’s been a while since I published a history post and I can’t wait to share my latest one with y’all.  In the meantime, you can check out two of my favorite Heels on the Battlefield posts from last year, here and here.  And let’s not forget, Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites, a September staple on the blog.

Speaking of fashion, how about these super gorgeous Nine West mint snake print platform sandals?!  I’ve been having a love affair with snake print heels lately.  I could not resist this pair because of the mint green hue.  To me, this color is so fresh and unexpected for snake print.  I had to have them and share with all of you.

The heels are approximately 4 inches with a .75 inch platform making them decently comfortable if you’re used to high heels.  Otherwise, they may be too high for some of you.  I’m also enamored with the stiletto heels.  Someone recently asked me what makes me feel sexy.  That’s easy!  A high pair of stilettos!  I always feel soooo SEXY and TALL!!!  My legs look long and I sashay the catwalk of life with so much confidence!

I’d recommend these heels to anyone who loves high stiletto heels.  Unfortunately, the heels are in limited quantity now, especially in this color.  You can find the heels here and here.  You could also do a quick internet search for “Nine West Edyn Platform Sandals” to see what pops up.

I paired the heels with a gingham top and white, high waist, paperbag denim shorts.  Yes, I’m mixing prints, but the trick is to keep the same color scheme as I did with this look.  There are hints of mint green in the heels which go nicely with the top.  Paperbag bottoms (high waist, cinching at the waistline with material above the cinching) were trending last year and I finally found a pair I like in these denim shorts.  I love the high waistline to hide the pooch and the button fly (as y’all know from my last post here).  This is another perfect look for some summertime vibes.  I feel like a modern day Southern belle minus the pomp and circumstance.  I just need a mint julep to complete this look!  😉

We had the photo shoot on the water at a place called Mallows Bay Park here in good ol’ Southern Maryland.  Of all our years living here, we’d never heard of this place.  We had our first photo shoot here several months ago, but I have not featured those pics on the blog yet.  This was actually our second time at Mallows Bay and the views did not disappoint.  We’ll most likely go back for more shoots as the temps cool off.

What’s fascinating about Mallows Bay is that it is “home to the largest shipwreck graveyard in the Northern Hemisphere.”  Ships go there to die and you can get on a kayak and explore the abandoned remains.  I’d love to do that one day now that I’ve experienced kayaking for the first time during my 4th of July trip to Pensacola, FL last month.  It was so much fun!  Perhaps, the indoors girl in me is becoming more outdoorsy.  Who could have ever imagined that?!  😉

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the pictures.  Next blog post will be published in the next week or two.

Style with a Smile!

XoXo,

Lizzy
