Hello, my lovelies! Lizzy’s Latest is finally back with a new post! It always seems to take forever these days to finish a post with life pulling me in so many different directions. Yet, no matter how much time has passed, I return. I truly appreciate your patience during these long absences from the blog. I have so much content and not a lot of idle time anymore. So, I continue to seek that balance that will allow me to post more frequently, like I used to. (more…)
Happy Valentine’s Day, my lovelies! How fitting it is that this day of love falls on the start of the Lenten season. There is no greater example of love than God’s love for humanity that He would sacrifice His only Son, Jesus, for our sins so that we may have eternal life.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I suppose by now, you’re used to me arriving fashionably late. 😉 I always seem to be chasing time…story of my life. Sigh…but, I can never stay away for too long. The connection I have with you here always draws me back. 😊 And I couldn’t wait to share the set from this photo shoot! The boots and historic location make this a Heels on the Battlefield classic Lizzy’s Latest trademark blog post.
In my last post I shared the details of my Salem girls trip with my besties. Well, there was more to the trip…in Boston! On our way to Salem, we had to pick up my childhood Forever BFF, Tammy, at Logan Airport. Her flight came in late, so we had some time to check out sites in Boston. Of course, my penchant for history led us to the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.
Surprise! Lizzy’s Latest is featuring a lower-heeled boot on the blog. This post is for all of you who love heels, but just can’t wear them. The Jagger boot merges chic style with all day comfort. My only gripe is that they are a bit heavy. I tend to prefer lighter weight boots, but they are cozy for colder temperatures. (more…)
Maryland is such a beautiful state! To this day, we continue to discover amazing treasures such as the War Correspondents Memorial Arch at Gathland State Park in Western Maryland. I was so excited to have a fall photo shoot here because of the gorgeous backdrop. Part of the Appalachian Trail cuts through here and the area is steeped in Civil War history that I was not aware of until we found this hidden gem. I’m hoping to write more about its Civil War past in future blog posts. (more…)
First Corinthians, 13-13: So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
George E. Dixon was a handsome and wealthy young man working in Mobile, AL by the start of the Civil War in 1861. One day, a Southern bell named, Queenie Bennett, caught his eye. Dixon made his affections known to her and when Queenie drew her handkerchief across her lips and looked at him with desire, Dixon knew she was smitten with him too. The warmth of young love filled their hearts and the two began a courtship that would become the stuff of legends. (more…)
HAPPY NEW YEAR to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I’m 30 days late with this post, but better late than never, right?! 😉 My regulars are used to my consistent inconsistent posting schedule. However, I did commit to at least one post a month, so here we go! 😊 (more…)
I was like the little engine that could in October and then my little engine lost its steam in November. Oopsie…sorry! I guess y’all are getting used to my inconsistent posting these days. I committed to post at least once a month, but I missed my November deadline. I was not happy about that, but such is life sometimes. All I can say is that I will do better and I appreciate your continued support for my little shoe blog. (more…)
While photo shooting a few weekends ago, we encountered this skeleton emerging from a manhole. It was part of a Halloween display decorating the town of La Plata, MD. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great prop poking tongue in cheek fun at all the shoe and feet enthusiasts out there. As a shoe blogger, you can imagine the types of messages I get from these admirers…perhaps, that will be a future blog post! 😉
In the meantime, enjoy this Halloween tale about an unsuspecting shoe blogger and a stalking manhole masher in Lizzy vs. the Manhole Masher!
