Lizzy’s Latest – Father’s Day Edition

Lizzy’s Latest Note:  This post was supposed to go live on Sunday, but I had ongoing internet issues.  Comcast is the WORST!  Absolutely unreliable and I plan to cancel my service soon.  As such, my Father’s Day post is a bit belated.

Greetings, my faithful friends and followers.  I must apologize for my absence, but life got busy (again!).  Adding to the delay was a technical issue that briefly took my website offline.  I didn’t even realize my website was offline until a few days ago when I tried to update it and couldn’t get in.  It was the worst feeling; my heart sank.  So much of my heart and soul goes into Lizzy’s Latest.  It is a passion of mine because I enjoy sharing heels and history with all of you.  🙂 (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – My torturedSoles Sole Sister

Back in the summer, I received a text from my dear friend, Kimberly.  She is the founder and owner of torturedSoles, a wonderful 100% women owned company specializing in non-slip shoe pads.  These scientifically developed pads are the BEST solution to feet discomfort and pain.  They are great for women AND men.    (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest: Vince Camuto Abrianna Slouch Booties

My search for white boots had been ongoing over the last few years.  I was looking for a slouchy pair with stiletto heels that were at least 3 inches.  Unfortunately, most I came across were block heels.  They were nice, but did not fit my criteria.  Then, one mundane Monday I came across these beauties and the day quickly turned exciting.  Vince Camuto read my mind when they created the Abrianna Slouch booties!  With a shoe sale going on at Macy’s, I quickly selected my size and added this pair to my cart. La Plata, MD – The Celestial Biker: New Orleans, LA Adventure Highlights: Conclusion

On our departure morning, my Forever BFF, Tammy, had an early morning flight.  I woke up to bid her farewell and stayed up to take one last walk around the city.  My normally directionally challenged self was buoyed by the aid of Google Maps.  😉 (more…)

Haunted History – The Legend of Moll Dyer – the Witch of Leonardtown, MD

Perhaps I would have reconsidered the brazenness of this pose had I been more familiar with Moll Dyer’s story.  I contacted the guru of Southern Maryland, my best friend, William, for more insight.  His tongue and cheek response: (more…)

Shoespiration – Vince Camuto Paxton Caged Heel

Can you tell I’m on a cage heels kick?  😉  These Vince Camuto Paxton sandals are from last Summer.  They are part of a surplus of blog pics that have yet to be published.  I’m so happy to finally feature them this week before we say good-bye to Summer.  (more…)

Shoespiration: Vince Camuto Welton Moto Boots

Now that my shoe blog is monthly, the time in between posts sometimes feels like too long of an absence from all of you, at least to me.  As such, I’ve launched a new segment on my blog called, “Shoespiration.”  🙂  Its intent is to fill the fashion void that lingers between my main blog posts.  It’s a mini blog post; a sort of fashion fix if you will to get us through the month.  😉 (more…)

Port Tobacco, MD – No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

1 IMG_9121 Final Cropped

As a practicing Roman Catholic, one of my favorite weekly activities is attending Mass.  I see it as visiting God in His house once a week.  Going to church is also cathartic for me.  Whatever struggles I may have encountered during the week dissipates as I participate in the Mass.  By the end of Mass my spirit feels renewed, my mind is clear, and I leave with a calming sense of peace. WED 20151024_152550 Final

For this heel/outfit combo, I was searching for a location that was serene and unspoiled.  Mount Carmel Monastery in Port Tobacco, Maryland came to mind after I remembered a conversation I had with a priest one year.  Without going into too much detail, he wanted me to talk to a nun at Mount Carmel about religious life.  I had thought about becoming a nun when I was in high school, but that thought dissipated when I started college.  I did as he asked and as magnanimous and humbling a cloistered life in a monastery would be for me, it was definitely not something I wanted to pursue.  I walked the grounds after my conversation and even sat in the little chapel for a bit noting the beauty of this hidden treasure built in 1790.  It was the perfect setting for this chic heel/outfit combo.    (more…)
