I’m slowly acclimating back to blogging after so much time off. It’s all coming back to me now. 😉 In my previous post, I mentioned I wasn’t sure if I would do a review of these heels because I’d like to move on to fall shoes. In the end, I decided to write a review post because I had more pics in this shoot to share. So, why not?(more…)
“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall” (Oscar Wilde). Scorching days have transitioned to crisp mornings and comfortable afternoons. Fall has always been my favorite time of year. I love that chill in the air feeling as it feels so refreshing after months of sweltering heat. I love the kaleidoscope of colors transforming the landscape as leaves enter the sunset of their lives. And when that gust of wind blows, they let go gracefully and obediently, dancing their last dance. The sweet smell of burning wood fills me with warmth and yearning for this new season. Fall embraces me like a warm hug and I am excited for sweater weather, vanilla, pumpkin, and marshmallow swirl candles (great combo, right?!), fabulous fashion, boot season, and best of all, Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites!(more…)
Taking pictures for the blog has been quite limited during this pandemic. With everything closed, we have been staying in the neighborhood for photo shoots. This time around, we ventured a little further into Southern Maryland. (more…)
If you’ve been following my blog on a regular basis, you know about my Forever BFF, Tammy, and my East Coast BFF, Packy. Well, there is one other girl who completes my trifecta of besties. She was a girl I used to know who remains close to my heart. She was my Eternal BFF, Shari. The first time we met was serendipitous and from that moment on, we became the best of friends. We got into so much mischief together (as kids do!), but always gave the appearance of being perfect angels. 😉 When we lost touch many years ago, I never forgot Shari, even searching for her over the years to no avail. Her impact on my life was immense and I often reminisced about our adventures and prayed that she was healthy and happy. (more…)
When I began my blog journey some years ago, our go-to destination for photo shoots was Richmond, VA. Richmond is steeped in Civil War history and remnants of the Old South’s charm still feel warm and inviting. Its allure has captured my heart and it’s the only city that draws me back time and time again. (more…)
August was full of adventure for me! I was in Savannah, GA earlier in the month and had a wonderful time. I will detail that trip in a future blog post. I also spent time with my two Godsons and niece in SC mid-August. We had an 80s themed party which I will also share in a future blog post. By the end of August, we were back to photo shooting for the blog. I cannot wait to feature that post because it deals with the legend of Moll Dyer, a local woman who lived a century or so ago and was rumored to be a witch. Perfect post for October! 😉 (more…)
Lizzy’s Latest is one week old! My first week as a shoe blogger was eventful. I spent many evenings working on my Facebook page and reaching out to the Instagram community. I am new to Instagram and when I posted my first picture announcing my blog, I didn’t get much of a response. At first, I thought that was normal. Then, I realized a day or two later, I should have used hashtags! Lesson learned!(more…)
The location for my first blog post was Richmond, VA. Richmond has been my favorite city to visit ever since I became interested in Civil War history. With lots to see and do there, it felt right to combine my love of shoes with my love of history.
I chose an interesting locale: Hollywood Cemetery. The first time I visited Hollywood, I was consumed by the beauty of it. Located along the James River, it is an architectural masterpiece. It is more than just a place to pay respect to those who have passed. It is a garden cemetery where you can find runners, painters, dog walkers, tourists and even people enjoying lunch. So, why not add a shoe blogger to the mix?!(more…)
