Lizzy’s Latest – Lucky Brand Margaline Sandals

Taking pictures for the blog has been quite limited during this pandemic.  With everything closed, we have been staying in the neighborhood for photo shoots.  This time around, we ventured a little further into Southern Maryland.

It was the day before Easter and I was hoping to find a spot with spring flowers.  As we drove, we eyed a Catholic church on the road that had potential and pulled into the parking lot.  Our hopes diminished when we realized that the garden we were seeking was actually a cemetery.

All was not lost though.  Next to the cemetery was a beautiful grotto dedicated to Our Blessed Mother.  Known as Our Lady of Grace Shrine, it was built in 1954 and serves as an oasis for mediation, peace, and prayer.  It was also a perfect spot in the shade on this very sunny day.  And the spring flowers I had hoped for?  Well, I received them, albeit faux ones.  ๐Ÿ˜‰ There were artificial blooms around the grotto, so we borrowed them for this shoot.

I didn’t think to capture the grotto before we left, so here it is. Photo credit here.

As I walked around the grotto looking for a good spot to pose, I couldnโ€™t help but notice the frayed trim around the toes of these heels.  The frayed detail is the reason I had to have these espadrilles in my collection.  I had never purchased Lucky Brand shoes before, so I was a little nervous about how they would fit.  Fortunately, my fears were for naught because the fit was perfect to me.

The wedges are 3 inches with a half inch platform making them quite pleasant to walk in.  The orangey-pink tone is so spring-tastic too!  I paired the beautiful sandals with a matching sweater and denim short shorts.  I donโ€™t know why, but I am having a love affair with denim shorts right now.  Youโ€™ll definitely be seeing more of these types of shorts on the blog soon.  And for those interested, I am wearing toeless pantyhose.  I needed a filter for my pale legs and I didnโ€™t feel like putting on the wash-off leg tint I usually wear for summertime shoots.

Although I paired them with denim shorts, the wedges would look great with regular shorts, dresses, and skirts.  I would also pair them with jeans โ€ฆ skinny AND bootcut.  The sandals are still available too!  You can find them here and in a variety of colors.

Before heading home, we stopped at another nearby church hoping to find some spring blooms.  Unfortunately, the sun was too bright and the blooms scant.  We took a few pics before calling it a day.  Those pics are the last couple ones in this selection.

Have a great weekend!  Lizzyโ€™s Latest will be back with a new post soon.  Until then, stay safe and healthy.

Style with a Smile!

XoXo,

Lizzy
