HAPPY HALLOWEEN, my family, friends, followers, and visitors! Hope y’all have had an adventurous and spooky Ghostober! 😊 I know it’s been quite some time since my last post on the 4th of July and I apologize for the long absence. I traveled a lot this summer and also just got back from my annual girls trip with my besties a few weeks ago. You’ll definitely hear about that in an upcoming blog post. Always fun times with my BFFs.
Hello, my lovelies! Lizzy’s Latest is finally back with a new post! It always seems to take forever these days to finish a post with life pulling me in so many different directions. Yet, no matter how much time has passed, I return. I truly appreciate your patience during these long absences from the blog. I have so much content and not a lot of idle time anymore. So, I continue to seek that balance that will allow me to post more frequently, like I used to. (more…)
Happy Valentine’s Day, my lovelies! How fitting it is that this day of love falls on the start of the Lenten season. There is no greater example of love than God’s love for humanity that He would sacrifice His only Son, Jesus, for our sins so that we may have eternal life.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I suppose by now, you’re used to me arriving fashionably late. 😉 I always seem to be chasing time…story of my life. Sigh…but, I can never stay away for too long. The connection I have with you here always draws me back. 😊 And I couldn’t wait to share the set from this photo shoot! The boots and historic location make this a Heels on the Battlefield classic Lizzy’s Latest trademark blog post.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I’m 30 days late with this post, but better late than never, right?! 😉 My regulars are used to my consistent inconsistent posting schedule. However, I did commit to at least one post a month, so here we go! 😊 (more…)
MERRY CHRISTMAS to my family, friends, followers, and visitors! I can’t believe how fast December flew. It felt like just yesterday I was writing out Christmas cards. Now, I will enjoy “Midnight” Mass at 8PM this evening with my parents. Then after, I will be up late wrapping presents and baking my famous chocolate chip cookies.
My sister, Jeanette, and my brother, Michael, and his family will arrive tomorrow afternoon just in time for Dad’s legendary turkey feast and chocolate pudding pie – mont blanc, anyone? 😉 I can’t wait! It is such a joyous time of year for me and my family.
Yet, I also realize this time of year can be difficult and challenging for some. People who are alone and/or estranged from family and/or friends. I’ve had years like that in the past growing up and it’s not a good feeling. Long before my deeper conversion to my Catholic faith (read about it here), I was spiritually lost. I ignored the true meaning of Christmas and blamed God for whatever suffering I was struggling with, never looking myself in the mirror for the true architect of my misery…me. (more…)
While photo shooting a few weekends ago, we encountered this skeleton emerging from a manhole. It was part of a Halloween display decorating the town of La Plata, MD. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great prop poking tongue in cheek fun at all the shoe and feet enthusiasts out there. As a shoe blogger, you can imagine the types of messages I get from these admirers…perhaps, that will be a future blog post! 😉
In the meantime, enjoy this Halloween tale about an unsuspecting shoe blogger and a stalking manhole masher in Lizzy vs. the Manhole Masher!
The paranormal has always intrigued me and my dad. Although, we don’t participate in any occult practices, we love wandering around haunted places, taking ghost tours, and exploring graveyards and cemeteries to indulge our taphophile hearts. (more…)
So, I have to give credit to my dad for suggesting a carnival photo shoot for the 4th of July. When we were throwing out ideas, I thought it would be cool to take a drive to Williamsburg, VA and check out the President Heads. When I showed Dad some pics, he scoffed and reminded me my stilettos would get dirty in the mud. OK … maybe, not my best idea, but I was also a little hesitant about the carnival thinking it would be too crowded. Dad assured me we would go before it opened and despite my reticence, I agreed for lack of a better location. (more…)
