Almost every year around Christmastime, my childhood friend, Lee, brings up Mardi Gras. And every time he brings it up, I hesitate because I loathe crowds and rarely drink. I would always tell him, “Maybe next year.” To which he would respond, “Liz, you need to get out more.” (more…)
We were supposed to get a mix of snow and rain this weekend, but fortunately, that did not come to fruition. Instead, the day was brisk. Temperatures remained in the 40s with a mix of sun and clouds. Brrr!!! (more…)
My search for white boots had been ongoing over the last few years. I was looking for a slouchy pair with stiletto heels that were at least 3 inches. Unfortunately, most I came across were block heels. They were nice, but did not fit my criteria. Then, one mundane Monday I came across these beauties and the day quickly turned exciting. Vince Camuto read my mind when they created the Abrianna Slouch booties! With a shoe sale going on at Macy’s, I quickly selected my size and added this pair to my cart. (more…)
On our departure morning, my Forever BFF, Tammy, had an early morning flight. I woke up to bid her farewell and stayed up to take one last walk around the city. My normally directionally challenged self was buoyed by the aid of Google Maps. 😉 (more…)
It was love at first sight when I discovered these boots online. I adored them so much, I included them on Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites back in September. What I didn’t like was the $120 price tag. Eventually, I caught a sale and purchased them at a 30% discount. 🙂 (more…)
Back in October 2017, my Forever BFF, Tammy, and I reunited in New Orleans, LA for our annual girls trip. I shared highlights from our first night in New Orleans back in July. This post continues our adventure. 🙂 (more…)

After an afternoon of photo shooting around the main areas of the battlefield, we had one more heel/outfit combo to fit in before sunset. It was a little after 5PM and we were not sure where to go next for the final photo shoot. With sunlight quickly dissipating, we found a patch of road lined with historic fencing. It was a lonely road save for a passing car or two; perfect for an impromptu photo shoot. (more…)
Perhaps I would have reconsidered the brazenness of this pose had I been more familiar with Moll Dyer’s story. I contacted the guru of Southern Maryland, my best friend, William, for more insight. His tongue and cheek response: (more…)
I’ve always adored traditional pumps. I find them beautifully timeless and fiercely feminine. Over the years, I have tried to wear them, but my narrow heels would always slip out of the heels causing me great frustration and embarrassment. Eventually, I discovered heel inserts and thought they would be the solution to my narrow heels. The drug store brands did solve the heel issue, but their bulk made the toe box extremely tight and painful. For a while, I endured the pain for fashion’s sake, but the nightly toe cramps finally convinced me that traditional pumps were simply not compatible with my narrow heels. Sigh…
Unable to wear traditional pumps, my feelings start with sadness…
