In my last post I shared the details of my Salem girls trip with my besties. Well, there was more to the trip…in Boston! On our way to Salem, we had to pick up my childhood Forever BFF, Tammy, at Logan Airport. Her flight came in late, so we had some time to check out sites in Boston. Of course, my penchant for history led us to the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.
I was like the little engine that could in October and then my little engine lost its steam in November. Oopsie…sorry! I guess y’all are getting used to my inconsistent posting these days. I committed to post at least once a month, but I missed my November deadline. I was not happy about that, but such is life sometimes. All I can say is that I will do better and I appreciate your continued support for my little shoe blog. (more…)
While photo shooting a few weekends ago, we encountered this skeleton emerging from a manhole. It was part of a Halloween display decorating the town of La Plata, MD. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great prop poking tongue in cheek fun at all the shoe and feet enthusiasts out there. As a shoe blogger, you can imagine the types of messages I get from these admirers…perhaps, that will be a future blog post! 😉
In the meantime, enjoy this Halloween tale about an unsuspecting shoe blogger and a stalking manhole masher in Lizzy vs. the Manhole Masher!
While driving home one night a few weekends ago, I entered my neighborhood and a familiar scent of burning wood wafted into my car. I breathed it in with a smile and joyous anticipation of the new season. I LOVE fall! It is my favorite season. The weather is as perfect as weather can be in the DMV. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, and crisp evenings. I love that chill in the air and the contentment I feel when I break out a long cardi to blanket me in warmth. I’m looking forward to fall foliage, one of the best attractions of the season. Viewing a panorama of colors is delight to my eyes. The leaves, so brilliant yet fleeting, remind me of life and how it is so important to cherish every moment. With this new season comes the return of boots, the best fashion of the year, football, Halloween screams, and as always…drum roll please…Lizzy’s Latest annual Top 5 Fall Favorites! 🙂 (more…)
Sometimes friendship is a destiny waiting to happen. One of the best gifts of starting my blog is connecting with my followers. One of my first followers is a guy named Mike. Mike has a great page filled with nature, sunsets/sunrises, and history. It’s a perfect trifecta of interests. (more…)
“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall” (Oscar Wilde). Scorching days have transitioned to crisp mornings and comfortable afternoons. Fall has always been my favorite time of year. I love that chill in the air feeling as it feels so refreshing after months of sweltering heat. I love the kaleidoscope of colors transforming the landscape as leaves enter the sunset of their lives. And when that gust of wind blows, they let go gracefully and obediently, dancing their last dance. The sweet smell of burning wood fills me with warmth and yearning for this new season. Fall embraces me like a warm hug and I am excited for sweater weather, vanilla, pumpkin, and marshmallow swirl candles (great combo, right?!), fabulous fashion, boot season, and best of all, Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites!(more…)
Fall has arrived, but summer still persists. Yet in time, its dissipating warmth eases the transition to the new season. I’m excited and enticed as fall captivates with colorful landscapes. This truly is my favorite time of year! I love watching the leaves change colors and fall from the trees in an enchanting dance with the wind. I love the aroma of burning wood on chilly nights. It is the start of boot season, sweater weather, football, great fashion, and more! I adore it all and, of course, Lizzy’s Latest annual Top 5 Fall Favorites! (more…)
I purchased these booties during the height of my enthusiasm for burgundy/wine colored heels. I knew they would look perfect with this plaid skirt I paired them with. I was going for a school-girl vibe with this photo shoot. I even brought along some graduate school books that matched my outfit. Thank you, Managerial Economics. 😉
The boots are super comfortable with a nice footbed and a heel height of approximately 3 inches. I had to walk through some gravel as we navigated our way through an elementary school and a high school. I swung on swings at the elementary school and even attempted to climb on the monkey bars. The kid in me was smiling!
The boot is an almond toe with a side zip closure. It has a suede upper and comes in black, dark blue, and dark red (my purchase). I really love the side buckle because it adds a charming detail to the booties. These boots are still available at Macy’s in all the colors I mention above, at least at the time of this post. A quick internet search for “Marc Fisher Tailynn booties” will bring up other options as well.
I highly recommend adding these booties to your Fall collection. I’ve gotten several compliments from co-workers, friends, and even strangers. I love the skinny heels and the wine color is so sexy and in the moment! Pair them with mini-skirts, leggings, and jeans. They will definitely amp up your look and get you noticed.
September through December is my favorite time of year. The oppressive heat of Summer dissipates into the more comfortable temperatures of Fall. Leaves begin to change colors putting on a spectacular show before dancing their final act through the air in a random spiral to the ground. Halloween comes and goes and before I know it, Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner. (more…)
My obsession with fringe continues! However, as much as I coveted this boot, the current price point was out of my budget. Yet, I was so tempted to make an exception because the booties are so sexy-cute and irresistible! It was a constant battle between waiting and splurging. What helped me wait was the warm weather. I knew the boot would be in its box collecting dust until the cooler temps. On the other hand, I was also worried my size would disappear. SIGH…the stress of strategic shoe shopping! 😉 (more…)
