In less than two weeks, my BFF, Tammy, and I will be on our way to Savannah, GA! Hard to believe, but Tammy has never been to the East Coast or the South. Her biggest anxiety is the thought of mosquitoes eating her alive because she is very prone to getting bit. We always joke she has sweet blood! 😉 I told her not to worry because I will bring the bug spray. 🙂 (more…)
I used to have a fondness for wedge sandals until a conversation with a male friend had me re-thinking my attachment to them. According to this fellow, wedge sandals are the antithesis of sexy. Sexiness to him is a woman in stiletto heels. Given my love of stilettos, I could not argue with him there. However, his aversion to wedges almost ruined my affinity for them! (more…)
When I was growing up, I was a handful. My mom told me I was a wild child with mischievous tendencies and a stubborn will. At a young age, I remember being a curious kid eager to explore the world despite my mom’s attempt to keep me within her parental boundaries. My independent nature certainly kept my mom on her toes because any lapse in her attention often resulted in unintended situations. (more…)
I initially went with red heels to match the denim dress I wore in this photo shoot. Coordinating red heels with blue attire is a common tendency of mine. I like having that pop of red. 🙂 Then, I opened my first delivery of Spring/Summer shoes a few weekends ago and set my eyes on the Marc Fisher Braelin sandals. The pink is even prettier in person! I could imagine wearing these sandals on a date. 🙂 They are so feminine. The braided details are eye-catching and add a nice texture to this shoe. (more…)
The weather was spectacular this weekend. It was the perfect weekend for taking blog pictures and indulging in a history adventure with my dad. We decided to check out the George Washington Birthplace National Monument. Perched on the banks of the Potomac River and Pope’s Creek, the locale was perfect for a photo shoot. (more…)
These chic heels have been part of my shoe collection for many years now. I am so delighted to finally feature them on my blog and share them with you. I love the white strap detailing on the shoe. It truly adds a level of elegance to the stiletto heel, in my opinion. It is a very unique looking pump. (more…)
I never realized typing and texting could be hazardous to my health! For years, I have typed head and shoulders hunched forward in front of a computer. Then, when texting replaced talking, my posture further deteriorated becoming reminiscent of our more primitive ancestors. Of course, posture was rarely on my mind because I never had any serious issues that caused me concern.(more…)
Hello, Spring! I am happy that Winter is behind us now. I’m looking forward to wearing shorts, summer dresses, and everything in between again. 🙂 I’ve already started my Spring/Summer shoe shopping list (no purchases yet because it’s still Lent!) and it seems like lace up shoes are having a moment. I see them everywhere now which makes the Steve Madden Sambaa lace up heels so relevant. (more…)
One concept I would love to learn more about is affiliate marketing for bloggers. I believe this is an important tool in promoting my brand and reaching new audiences. My blogger friend, Eccentric Owl, has a great post on affiliate marketing and I wanted to share her post with you. For now, because of lack of time, I rely on word of mouth advertising from family and friends. I also post on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook. (more…)
Back in the Fall, I was dazzled by the assortment of boots and booties in the market. I wanted to buy every shoe that caught my eye. Over the years, I have learned to control my sometimes impetuous shopping personality. So each season, I make a list of all the shoes I “have to have” and then give myself a few days or more, if I’m anticipating a sale, to think about my shopping list. Occasionally, I realize I have similar shoes or the “what was I thinking” moment hits me before buying the shoes. Of course, I’m not always consistent with this discipline. When it comes to my heel addiction, theory is always better than practice. 😉 (more…)
