Last Saturday, I got to spend time with my Godson, Andrew, and niece, Kristin.  On their way to the beach, my brother and his family took a break from their drive for some family time.  The kids were excited too about a slumber party with Aunt Lizzy.  🙂          (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – White House Black Market Leather Asymmetrical Strap Sandals

It’s always a great weekend when we can take blog pictures and indulge in Civil War history.  My dad and I did exactly that Fourth of July weekend.  We toured Union General Ulysses S. Grant’s Headquarters at City Point Museum, located inside Appomattox Manor approximately 8 miles outside Petersburg, VA and part of the Petersburg National Battlefield.     (more…)

Petersburg National Battlefield: City Point – Reunions and Milestones

I’m back!  🙂  I had a lovely interlude of fun with my Forever BFF, Tammy, and my family.  One of the most memorable moments of my trip was at the beginning when Tammy was reunited with my brother, Michael.  Michael was best friends with her brother, Carl.  Together, the four of us were inseparable.  We were the four musketeers.  🙂  We had fun together and at times were even disciplined together… (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Steve Madden Sassey Two Piece Fringe Sandals

I am a girly-girl at heart.  So, I could not help, but fall in love with these fringe lace ups by Steve Madden.  They are the epitome of sexy!  The flirty fringe at the toe strap is so playful that I found myself stretching my legs in a dramatic walk to catch a glimpse of the ever so subtle swoosh of the fringe.  😉  What adds glamour to this sandal is the approximately 4.25 inch heel (pretty high even for me) and the ankle strap lace ups.  I love the tassel detail at the end of the lace ups too.  It adds such a nice touch to this gorgeous heel.  (more…)

In less than two weeks, my BFF, Tammy, and I will be on our way to Savannah, GA!  Hard to believe, but Tammy has never been to the East Coast or the South.  Her biggest anxiety is the thought of mosquitoes eating her alive because she is very prone to getting bit.  We always joke she has sweet blood!  😉  I told her not to worry because I will bring the bug spray.  🙂

Lizzy’s Latest – White House Black Market Saffron Lace Up Cork Wedge Sandals

WED 1 IMG_0032 FinalI used to have a fondness for wedge sandals until a conversation with a male friend had me re-thinking my attachment to them.  According to this fellow, wedge sandals are the antithesis of sexy.  Sexiness to him is a woman in stiletto heels.  Given my love of stilettos, I could not argue with him there.  However, his aversion to wedges almost ruined my affinity for them!  (more…)

Smallwood State Park – I Love You Mom!

1 20160430_150157 Final

When I was growing up, I was a handful.  My mom told me I was a wild child with mischievous tendencies and a stubborn will.  At a young age, I remember being a curious kid eager to explore the world despite my mom’s attempt to keep me within her parental boundaries.  My independent nature certainly kept my mom on her toes because any lapse in her attention often resulted in unintended situations. Lizzy’s Latest – Marc Fisher Braelin Ankle Strap Sandals

WED 0 IMG_9708 Final 5

I initially went with red heels to match the denim dress I wore in this photo shoot.  Coordinating red heels with blue attire is a common tendency of mine.  I like having that pop of red.  🙂  Then, I opened my first delivery of Spring/Summer shoes a few weekends ago and set my eyes on the Marc Fisher Braelin sandals.  The pink is even prettier in person!  I could imagine wearing these sandals on a date.  🙂  They are so feminine.  The braided details are eye-catching and add a nice texture to this shoe.

George Washington Birthplace National Monument – Three Strikes You’re Out

The weather was spectacular this weekend.  It was the perfect weekend for taking blog pictures and indulging in a history adventure with my dad.  We decided to check out the George Washington Birthplace National Monument.  Perched on the banks of the Potomac River and Pope’s Creek, the locale was perfect for a photo shoot. The Battle of Fort Sumter

IMG_3480 Final

The first time I visited Charleston, SC was years before I became interested in the Civil War.  At that time, Fort Sumter was simply an anomalous structure hovering on the horizon of Charleston Harbor.  I remember wondering what it was and then quickly dismissing the thought because I had the beauty of historic Charleston at my feet.  Perish the thought in hindsight!     (more…)
