Fall has arrived, but summer still persists. Yet in time, its dissipating warmth eases the transition to the new season. I’m excited and enticed as fall captivates with colorful landscapes. This truly is my favorite time of year! I love watching the leaves change colors and fall from the trees in an enchanting dance with the wind. I love the aroma of burning wood on chilly nights. There have been times over the last year when a lack of photo shoot planning led to a reliance on spontaneity. This was one of those weekends. Call it procrastination or laziness, perhaps a little of both, but I had no particular destination in mind other than it had to be local. Dad suggested DC, but I was lukewarm to the idea. The thought of taking pics in a crowd didn’t appeal to me and I was also thinking about my dad’s aversion to jam-packed places. The last thing I wanted was an aggravated photographer. 😉 However, with no other option, DC became the default location. (more…)
Have you ever had the experience of being behind someone in line whose credit card was declined? You patiently wait as the person insists there must be some mistake! Ultimately, the person either buys less with cash or leaves empty handed. Either outcome makes for a very awkward situation. (more…)
Lately, it seems every weekend I plan to take pictures, the weather turns cold. The weekend of this photo shoot was no exception. The temperature stayed in the 30s and the wind was gusty for the majority of the shoot.
