Lizzy’s Latest – Sun, Sand, Surf…Shoes!

Lizzy goes to the beach in this installment of Lizzy’s Latest!  😉  If you know me or have been following my blog, you know that I grew up on the beaches of San Diego.  Some of my happiest childhood memories happened at the beach with my Forever BFF, Tammy.  When we were younger, her dad used to take us and our brothers to the annual sandcastle competition at Imperial Beach.  It was so much fun watching artists create spectacular works of art out of sand!  When we were preteens, Tammy and I used to be dropped off at the beach where we would enjoy girl time and flirt with the cute boys…surfers for me and skaters for Tammy.  Haha!

As much as I enjoy the beach, I don’t live near one anymore.  So, when I’m near a beach, I have to visit.  And that’s what happened the day we had this photo shoot.  I had a hair appointment and we combined it with a quick shoot at two neighboring beaches, Ocean City, MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE.  I had been to OC before, but never Rehoboth.  I was excited about checking out a new beach.

I paired these summery Steve Madden Jina platform wedge sandals with an off-the-shoulder rainbow striped romper.  The look is effortlessly chic and oh so beachy!  I was pleasantly pleased with how all the colors in these shots were perfect complements.

Our initial shots (cover shot included) were taken on the beach at Ocean City.  I trekked through the sand in my heels, very carefully.  Fortunately, platforms are easier to walk in than stilettos, so I didn’t have any embarrassing falling accidents.  😉

Later that afternoon, we found our way to Rehoboth Beach and continued the photo shoot on the boardwalk.  While photo shooting on the boardwalk, I was complimented several times on my rainbow striped romper and heels.  I thanked the individuals while Dad promoted my blog.  Thanks, Dad!  😊

We eventually made our way onto the beach and took shots near the water.  That’s when the Southern California girl in me decided to kick off the heels and frolic in the ocean.  I couldn’t help myself!  The water was so refreshing and the little girl in me just wanted to play.  Dad was game and took action shots of me running, kicking, and splashing in the sea.  For a few moments, I was that little SoCal girl having fun at the beach without a care in the world.  It was so blissful and even cathartic.  When nature calls for me, it’s usually the beach.  😊

Have a great rest of your week and weekend!  Lizzy’s Latest will be back with a special Heels on the Battlefield post next week.  Can my history enthusiasts guess what that post might be about?!  😉  Until then, stay safe and healthy.

Style with a Smile!

XoXo,

Lizzy
