Point Lookout, MD – Lighthouse – A Fringe Affair to Remember

Cover

Don’t you love it when you find an outfit (or a pair of shoes) you weren’t expecting to find?  In fact, you weren’t even looking for it.   Then, in a moment of serendipity you end up with something new to bring home.

That’s what happened to me when I found this super cute romper.  Let me explain…

I was getting a haircut last month and I had some time to spare.  So, I found my way to a little boutique my hairstylist had added to her salon not too long ago.  A moment later, my heart is doing somersaults, my adrenaline is flowing, and my mind goes into, ‘I HAVE TO HAVE THIS’ mode!  Followed by, ‘Please have my size, please have my size!’

Rompers!  Just my luck!  I LOVE rompers!  And not just any romper, but THE romper with a yellowy-lime in the print!  The same shade of yellowy-lime that matches the yellowy-lime fringe sandals sitting so lonely in my closet patiently waiting to be paired with an outfit.  A perfect summer treat and more validation for me to buy the shoes now because the outfit will come later!  It always does!  😉

I was very happy with this romper/heel ensemble and could not wait for the photo shoot.

These pictures were taken at the Lighthouse at Point Lookout, MD.  In 1862, during the Civil War, a hospital was built next to the Lighthouse to treat Union soldiers.  About a year after the hospital was built, a prison camp was constructed and held approximately 20,000 Confederate prisoners.  Of which about 3,000 perished due to the harsh conditions and Union mistreatment.

The Lighthouse, built in 1830, is the only original structure (I think!) that is still standing.  It is reportedly haunted and arguably the most haunted lighthouse in America.  If you like a good ghost story or a good scare or a little of both, this is the place to be.  I am a big fan of the paranormal and I would love to explore the Lighthouse at night one day…just have to find the courage to do it!  Anyone interested?  It’s one thing to watch ghost shows, it’s another to actually experience ghosts in person.  😉

We finished taking pictures at the Point Lookout Confederate Cemetery, a Federal monument memorializing the Confederate soldier, because it was too windy at the Lighthouse and my hair was getting too big from the humidity.  SIGH…my high maintenance hair could have its own blog!

Have a wonderful week!  🙂

Lizzy’s Latest for this week is the Steve Madden Fringly Sandals.  I will give my review of these sandals around Wednesday.  For now, enjoy the pictures!  🙂
