Lizzy’s Latest – Michael Michael Kors Kami Ankle Strap
I adore yellow in the summertime, but it can be a hard color to wear. For me, it’s always been about finding the right shade of yellow to compliment my pale skin. Rich, vibrant colors work well on me, so when I saw the Kami wedge sandals online a few summers ago, I purchased them. I had no idea what I would wear with them (common issue with shoe addicts!), but I fell in love with the pop of patent yellow and the espadrille detail for the heel.
It must have been destiny because I found the yellow striped dress at Ann Taylor Loft on a shopping spree with my mom a week or so later. I paired the two for a concert I went to that summer. I remember standing in line for hours to get through security, but never complaining about my feet hurting. I was able to enjoy the show and avoid changing into flats afterwards for the walk back to the car.
I was completely in my comfort zone because of the cushiony footbed and approximately 3.5” wedge heel with ½” inch platform (remember, I walk best in heels 4 inches or less). The shoe is round toe with gold “MK” hardware detail on the heel. Very classy and cute!
Unfortunately, this style is mostly unavailable now. I found something similar, but not exact on Amazon.
Oh, how I wish they were still readily available because they are such a great and comfortable heel for the summer. Despite, an internet search for “patent yellow wedge sandals” will reveal more options. I hope I’ve inspired you to add yellow to your shoe collection, even if it’s not this particular pair. 🙂
