Lizzy’s Latest – Sun, Sand, Surf…Shoes!
Lizzy goes to the beach in this installment of Lizzyβs Latest!Β πΒ If you know me or have been following my blog, you know that I grew up on the beaches of San Diego.Β Some of my happiest childhood memories happened at the beach with my Forever BFF, Tammy.Β When we were younger, her dad used to take us and our brothers to the annual sandcastle competition at Imperial Beach.Β It was so much fun watching artists create spectacular works of art out of sand!Β When we were preteens, Tammy and I used to be dropped off at the beach where we would enjoy girl time and flirt with the cute boysβ¦surfers for me and skaters for Tammy.Β Haha!
As much as I enjoy the beach, I donβt live near one anymore.Β So, when Iβm near a beach, I have to visit.Β And thatβs what happened the day we had this photo shoot.Β I had a hair appointment and we combined it with a quick shoot at two neighboring beaches, Ocean City, MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE.Β I had been to OC before, but never Rehoboth.Β I was excited about checking out a new beach.
I paired these summery Steve Madden Jina platform wedge sandals with an off-the-shoulder rainbow striped romper.Β The look is effortlessly chic and oh so beachy!Β I was pleasantly pleased with how all the colors in these shots were perfect complements.
Our initial shots (cover shot included) were taken on the beach at Ocean City.Β I trekked through the sand in my heels, very carefully.Β Fortunately, platforms are easier to walk in than stilettos, so I didnβt have any embarrassing falling accidents.Β π
Later that afternoon, we found our way to Rehoboth Beach and continued the photo shoot on the boardwalk.Β While photo shooting on the boardwalk, I was complimented several times on my rainbow striped romper and heels.Β I thanked the individuals while Dad promoted my blog.Β Thanks, Dad!Β π
We eventually made our way onto the beach and took shots near the water.Β Thatβs when the Southern California girl in me decided to kick off the heels and frolic in the ocean.Β I couldnβt help myself!Β The water was so refreshing and the little girl in me just wanted to play.Β Dad was game and took action shots of me running, kicking, and splashing in the sea.Β For a few moments, I was that little SoCal girl having fun at the beach without a care in the world.Β It was so blissful and even cathartic.Β When nature calls for me, itβs usually the beach.Β πΒ
Have a great rest of your week and weekend!Β Lizzyβs Latest will be back with a special Heels on the Battlefield post next week.Β Can my history enthusiasts guess what that post might be about?!Β πΒ Until then, stay safe and healthy.
Style with a Smile!
XoXo,

It is so awesome to see these pictures! I miss the ocean, even more so now as the weather outside started to be more like autumn and the temperatures fell to low sixties. Your post reminds me of a vacation I went on a few years back. Have a great weekend!

It makes me so happy to know you enjoyed these shots, Joanna! I am a ball of energy and I think these pics portray my personality perfectly. π I love nostalgia and hope your memories of your beach vacation bring a smile to your face. I also hope you get back to the beach soon. Something about the ocean air, the crashing waves, and the trickling sand is comforting to me. I love to just sit on the sand and watch the waves come in and out. It’s so peaceful! I hope you get a few more warm days before the cooler air settles in where you are. Thank you for all your support on the blog. I will get back to you soon. π Happy weekend!

The Lincoln Memorial and Ocean City are the two places I wanted to take photographs of you for the blog since you started it in 2015 but never could. Until now, this year we got them both!
Although it doesn’t look like it, there were a lot of people on the beach and boardwalk when we took these photos. Even the pandemic can’t keep people away.

Yep…The Lincoln Memorial and OC were at the top of your wish list for photo shoot sites, Dad. Glad we can check them off the list and now you’ll have to come up with a new list. π We got very lucky at both locations. The Lincoln Memorial wasn’t too crowded the day we were there and though the beach was packed with visitors, we still managed to find clear spots. π

On the beach with heels! I wish I could! You always looks so great in white and that old the shoulder romper is too die for!
Love how you killed two birds with one stone: visiting the hairdressers and visiting the beach!
Have a great week!
