Lizzy’s Latest – INC International Concepts Kenjay American Flag d’Orsay Pumps

So, I have to give credit to my dad for suggesting a carnival photo shoot for the 4th of July.Β  When we were throwing out ideas, I thought it would be cool to take a drive to Williamsburg, VA and check out the President Heads.Β  When I showed Dad some pics, he scoffed and reminded me my stilettos would get dirty in the mud.Β  OK … maybe, not my best idea, but I was also a little hesitant about the carnival thinking it would be too crowded.Β  Dad assured me we would go before it opened and despite my reticence, I agreed for lack of a better location.

In hindsight, the carnival was the perfect spot for an Independence Day post.Β  You can’t get more American than that!Β  Dad, I admit, you were right.Β  😊  I am certain Dad will be gloating after reading my admission!Β  Lol!Β

And talk about being in the right spot at the right time.Β  Our encounter with Paul, the Jolly Shows Carnival owner, gave us a unique opportunity to elevate this photo shoot from typical to grand!Β  Paul’s magnanimous gesture, gifting us free rein of his carnival, resulted in one of the best shoots for Lizzy’s Latest thus far.

We were only limited by a headache that hit me and got progressively worse as the shoot went on.Β  Had I not felt so ill, I would have wanted to take pics on almost every ride.Β  Well, even if I had soldiered on, sprinkles moved in ending this fun shoot.Β

We quickly walked back to the mall and found a place for me to sit while Dad went into Dad mode and ran to Target to buy me some Aleve.Β  While I waited, I looked down at my heels and admired the beauty of these American flag pumps.Β  I’m so proud to be an American and love showing my patriotism. Β I bought the heels last year and could not wait to feature them here on the blog.Β

I am enamored with the pretty red, white, and blue rhinestones and pearls that give the American flags the sparkle factor as light hits the jewels.Β  I felt so comfortable in these pumps.Β  They are at my perfect heel height of 3.75 inches.Β  Although my head was pounding, my feet delighted in a cushion of contentment.Β

It did help that I was wearing torturedSoles anti-slip shoe pads.Β  If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I have narrow heels and can’t wear traditional pumps because my foot always slips out of the heel.Β  torturedSoles is my secret weapon and it has given me the freedom to wear traditional pumps again.Β  Check out my last post about torturedSoles here.Β  Β

In addition, Lizzy’s Latest and torturedSoles have an ongoing collaboration.Β  Enjoy 50% discountΒ off any and all torturedSoles products.Β  Just use the code, β€œLIZZY” at checkout!Β  Happy shopping!Β  😊

Unfortunately, these heels are no longer widely available.Β  However, you can do an internet search for β€œINC Kenjay d’Orsay American Flag Pumps” and see what comes up.Β  And if these heels look familiar, there’s a reason for that.Β  I featured the INC International Concepts Kenjay d’Orsay pumps in a different pattern here back in January.Β  I really love this heel style.Β

Hope y’all are having a fun summer!Β  It’s going by way too fast for me.Β  My brother and his family were up last weekend for a visit, so I took a few days off to enjoy some family time.Β  I will write more about that in a future post.Β

Have a great start to your week!Β  Lizzy’s Latest will be back featuring new heels in the next week or two.Β  Until then, stay safe and healthy.

Style with a Smile!

XoXo

    1. Thank you, Mike! You always have the nicest comments. πŸ™‚ I’m always smiling and yes, it is from my heart. I had a feeling you’d like the heels. You are a GREAT AMERICAN! Haha…shhh…don’t tell…nylons are my secret weapon for photogenic legs. πŸ˜‰ And, yes, Dad was right about the carnival. Hope you are getting some good golf games in and hope you are continuing to feel better, my friend. Happy new week!

  2. So much praise and recognition for this dad. I better take care not to let it all go to my head. Lest it grow as large as one of those presidents’ down in Williamsburg. 

The way Lizzy came around to her dad’s suggestion reminds me of another pretty brunette, Connie Francis, whose dad’s suggestion was instrumental in her success. In the late 1950s, before anyone had ever heard of her, she was just a Jersey girl with a record deal on the strength of her voice (and look) alone. But she was on the verge of being dropped by the label because nothing she’d recorded was generating revenue. When she entered the studio the last time obligated by her contract, she recorded an old song from the 1920s that her dad had been pestering her to cover.

The song was β€œWho’s Sorry Now?” It went multi-platinum, rocketed her to international stardom, and today she’s an icon of her era.

    Ain’t America great!

    1. Hahaha! Too funny, Dad! πŸ˜‚ I’m not too familiar with Connie Francis, but what a nice story! I’m sure I’ve heard the song before too. Will have to look it up on YouTube. I’m glad she listened to her dad too. LOL!

          1. Sadly, Connie Francis passed away this past Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
How bittersweet, that a song she recorded over 60 years ago, Pretty Little Baby, came back and became hit just recently after going viral on social media, Tik Tok.

  3. Those heels are truly amazing Lizzy!! Nothing wrong with having flags on anything, I think!!
So sorry about your headache. You are such a trooper. Heck, I don’t go anywhere without my aleve anymore. I have a small pillbox that fits in any purse for just in case!!

    1. I agree. Love our American flag. And that is a great idea, Jodie. I should just keep some Aleve with me in a pillbox. I rarely get headaches, that’s why I felt so ill that day, but, you’re right, it’s good to have some available just in case. Happy weekend, my friend!

  4. Oh shooting when not feeling well is the worst, I remember when I was in Paris one year I had a shoot set up with a photographer I booked on AirB-N-B who was terrible BYW. But I was super sick with a fever it was a struggle for sure. Oh those tortured soles sound excellent I am so going to check them out! Loving those heels.

    1. Oh my! You had a fever too?! I can only imagine how difficult that shoot must have been for you. And on top of that having to deal with a terrible photographer. Ugh!!!
Hopefully, just being in Paris made up for some of that unpleasantness. Thank you and yes, check out torturedSoles! πŸ™‚ Happy weekend, Allie!

    1. Hi Radi! He is a great dad! The 4th was fabulous with perfect weather. I hope you had a good Independence Day too. Thank you! Happy weekend! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Margot! All better now. The headache went away soon after I took the Aleve. This is definitely one of my best photo shoots. I hope to wear these pumps again. πŸ™‚ Happy weekend!
