Catoctin Mountain Park, MD – Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, family, friends, followers, AND first time visitors!  I’m always nostalgic this time of year and ever so grateful for your love, friendship, and loyalty.  2019 was a great year at Lizzy’s Latest.

  • For my history aficionados, I published a handful of history posts including my favorite history post this year about a touching behind the scenes moment between actor, Stephen Lang, and a bunch of re-enactors including new friend, Eddie Roberts, and my good friend, Dave Purschwitz, during the filming of Pickett’s Charge in the 1993 movie, β€˜Gettysburg.’  Read it here.
  • I shared more stories with you through my travel adventures…who could forget the Mardi Gras post?!  Read it here.  And I shared more personal stories giving all of you more insight into me and my personality…remember Elizabeth Who?!  πŸ˜‰  Read it here.
  • The icing on the cake, I have more of YOU visiting the blog and following me on social media. THANK YOU!!!

I can’t tell you enough how honored I am by your presence and from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you all so much for your kindness and continued support of Lizzy’s Latest.  Thank you for your engagement and your likes on social media.  Thank you visiting me here on the blog to read my posts and taking time to comment.  I’m also grateful for my readers who prefer to remain anonymous.  I see your visits through my analytics and I am so happy to know I have regular readers of the blog.  As any blogger can attest, putting out content is very time consuming especially when you already have a full-time job like I do.  So, I am always happy to see visits to the blog.

As we enter this first year of the new decade, I am so excited and optimistic!  Of course, I am already a happy-go-lucky girl by nature…I’m a ball of energy!  πŸ™‚  However, if you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, get unstuck by adjusting your mindset and believing you will persevere!  Whether it’s a situation or a person who has disappointed you, remember in the grand scheme of things, these disappointments are insignificant blips in your life; noise in your peripheral.  Allow yourself to feel the disappointment and then LET IT GO!  Ride that freeway of life with a carefree spirit as that disappointment dissipates into a distant memory in your rear view.  Be open to love, happiness, and success!  Remember positivity begets positivity.  πŸ™‚

For more new year’s motivation, check out an old post I wrote about how I changed my outlook on life and it forever changed me.  Read it here.

HAPPY 2020!!!  I wish you all health, love, happiness, and all of God’s blessings!  This will be a fabulous year for heels, history, and more!  I have a lot of content to share in the coming weeks and months.  My challenge is finding the time to put it together.  So, I truly appreciate your patience.

This week, Lizzy’s Latest is featuring the XOXO Trinidad snake print slouch boots.  My review of these boots will come next week.  Until then, enjoy the pictures.  πŸ™‚

I’m also sharing family Christmas pictures since I didn’t have time to publish a Christmas post this year.  We had a wonderful Christmas full of love and memories.  I hope you had a meaningful holiday season too!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Our annual visit to NJ to visit my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Shawn, and cousin Caroline. In this shot are the girls in my family (left to right): cousin Amanda, sister Jeanette, Amanda’s daughter, Belle, my niece, Kristin, cousin Caroline, and Aunt Lisa.

The men in our family and their daughters (left to right): Dad with me and Jeanette, brother, Michael with Kristin, and cousin Chris with Belle. We are only missing Uncle Shawn and Caroline. Uncle Shawn was still at work when this shot was taken.

I took my Godson, Andrew, and niece, Kristin, to Hersheypark to enjoy Christmas lights and rides.  By the way, I opted for practical shoes that day.  πŸ˜‰  My kicks are Under Armour (founder, Kevin Plank, is a fellow Terp!).

Family friend, Connor, came with us for the day. He was our photographer and Andrew’s ride buddy. πŸ™‚  This ride gave us a tour of the factory and showed us how chocolate is made.

Taking a break! Andrew is being Andrew … lol!

Connor captured a typical moment between me and the kiddies.

Being silly!

Kristin can’t contain herself!

Laughter is always required!  πŸ™‚

The Sooper Dooper Looper was our last ride. Connor sat this one out because unbeknownst to us, he has acrophobia (fear of heights!). So, he’d been going on all the rides with us without complaint.  What a trooper!  What put him over the edge was the relaxing sky ride that goes around the park. Your feet dangle in the ski lift type ride and that proved to be too much for Connor. He suffered a mild panic attack on that ride and decided he was done riding for the night.  We rode the Sooper Dooper Looper in honor of Connor.  πŸ˜‰ .

Christmas evening with my two Godsons, Andrew and little Josh, and my niece, Kristin.

Andrew was re-enacting some music video…the kids are also wearing their new kicks: Under Armour White Curry 5 for Kristin and Under Armour Sour Patch Curry 7’s for Andrew.

Three content kiddies!

My favorite gift this Christmas is a replica of the Bird Girl statue made famous when it was featured as the cover shot of the novel, ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” My parents got it for me during our trip to Savannah last summer. I had no idea they bought it and was thrilled to receive it! πŸ™‚
