Edgar Allan Poe remained true to his art. He had so many opportunities to lead a life of practicality, but he always found ways to flee complacency. For Poe’s passion was writing and he was determined to earn a living wage through his fictions. It’s always a great weekend when we can take blog pictures and indulge in Civil War history. My dad and I did exactly that Fourth of July weekend. We toured Union General Ulysses S. Grant’s Headquarters at City Point Museum, located inside Appomattox Manor approximately 8 miles outside Petersburg, VA and part of the Petersburg National Battlefield. (more…)
I’m back! 🙂 I had a lovely interlude of fun with my Forever BFF, Tammy, and my family. One of the most memorable moments of my trip was at the beginning when Tammy was reunited with my brother, Michael. Michael was best friends with her brother, Carl. Together, the four of us were inseparable. We were the four musketeers. 🙂 We had fun together and at times were even disciplined together… (more…)
