Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!Β  Today we celebrate America’s birthday.Β  It was 242 years ago today that the original 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence.Β  Today, it is a day for family and friends to come together and celebrate our nation’s birthday with barbecues, parades, concerts, fireworks, and the like.Β  My family and I will certainly be participating in the festivities.Β  πŸ™‚

We had a photo shoot last weekend at a naval air museum in Southern Maryland (more on that in a future blog post).Β  We took pictures for three heel/outfit combos here.Β  One of them is this one.Β  πŸ™‚Β  Β Β 

My American pride is on full display with a bold red off-the-shoulder (OTS) top and white scalloped edge shorts.Β  I’m still very much addicted to OTS tops if you haven’t noticed.Β  πŸ˜‰ Β I find them so sexy.Β  And they go so well with the scalloped edge shorts.Β  Very easy breezy for the summertime.Β  πŸ™‚

I paired them with edgy Marc Fisher red heels from years ago. Unfortunately, they are no longer available.Β  If they look familiar, they are the same pair I wore with the blue dress on my β€œAbout” page.Β  I still wear them from time to time because they are comfortable.Β 

The American flag is my best accessory.Β  πŸ™‚

I wish you all a safe and happy 4th of July and in closing I leave you with one of my favorite parts of the Declaration of Independence:Β 

β€œWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Happy Birthday, America!Β  May God continue to bless our great nation.Β

  1. A Happy 4th to you too Lizzy. The airplane in the second and third pics is an A-4 Skyhawk. When I was a boy, that was the type of plane the Blue Angels flew and it was the kind of plane John McCain was flying when he was shot down over Hanoi.

    In the other pics you’re standing under the wing of an EA-6B Prowler. I believe such planes are still on duty aboard American aircraft carriers. There’s a helicopter and satellite dish behind you, but I don’t know their nomenclature
