Shoespiration – Jessica Simpson Lindy Slouchy Boots

If these boots look familiar, there’s a reason.  They were featured on Lizzy’s Latest in December 2018, but in a different color.  I originally purchased them in red and loved them so much, I bought them in black too.  🙂  My original post is here and the review is here.

These boots are so versatile and one of my favorite pairs to wear during the cooler months.  I’ve paired them with jeans, pants, shorts, dresses, and skirts…everything!  For this look, I wanted a modern vibe.  So, I wore a burgundy skirt, black off-the-shoulder top, and black pantyhose with these boots.

This style was the second and last heel/outfit combo of my post-Thanksgiving shoot in and around the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC.  We had spent the majority of the afternoon shooting the Charles by Charles David Muller over-the-knee (OTK) boots featured in my last two posts.  So, by the time we got to this look, the winds had picked up and the temps were beginning to fall.  I was feeling cold and adding to a less than ideal final shoot, were my achy feet.  Silly me had forgotten walking shoes and I was feeling the consequences of walking all afternoon in two pairs of high heeled boots.

As we passed the Lincoln Memorial, we took some initial shots at the Reflecting Pool.  The sun was still shining, but the winds made it feel much colder.  Unfortunately, I didn’t like the majority of the shots, so we continued our walk to the Vietnam Women’s Memorial

This memorial honors all the women who served in this conflict with the majority of them serving as nurses.  This statue features three women in uniform aiding a wounded soldier.  To me, this statue exemplifies the courage and duty of all women in the military.  It is a tribute to their enduring legacy and service to country.

We lingered a while at this memorial because my feet were hurting and I needed to rest.  Eventually, we found our way back to the Reflecting Pool and finished our shoot there as droplets of rain began to fall.  With no umbrella, we began our trek back to the car as the droplets became more widespread.  I was secretly happy the photo shoot was over and I was out of the cold rain resting my feet in a warm car.  You don’t hear me saying that too often about my heels.  ;-).

Have a great weekend!  Lizzy’s Latest will be back in a week or two featuring new heels.  🙂

Style with a Smile!

XoXo,

Lizzy

Notice the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall across the grass. The length of that wall extends beyond the left and right confines of this picture. It’s a somber feeling seeing so many names.
