“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall” (Oscar Wilde). Scorching days have transitioned to crisp mornings and comfortable afternoons. Fall has always been my favorite time of year. I love that chill in the air feeling as it feels so refreshing after months of sweltering heat. I love the kaleidoscope of colors transforming the landscape as leaves enter the sunset of their lives. And when that gust of wind blows, they let go gracefully and obediently, dancing their last dance. The sweet smell of burning wood fills me with warmth and yearning for this new season. Fall embraces me like a warm hug and I am excited for sweater weather, vanilla, pumpkin, and marshmallow swirl candles (great combo, right?!), fabulous fashion, boot season, and best of all, Lizzy’s Latest Top 5 Fall Favorites!
- Earth Tones – This year, the color brown is trending and I found the perfect boot in my favorite brown hue! It is by BCBGeneration and it’s on my “Must Have” list. The boot is genius in design as it can be worn two ways: as a mid calf, slouch boot or pulled up to the knees. You decide! For me personally, I plan to wear it slouchy because slouchy, mid-calf is my favorite boot style. I also adore the stiletto heels, my favorite type of heel! This boot is sexy, chic, flirty, and fun! It’s so versatile you may want it in other colors. You’ll definitely see me slayin’ in these boots on the blog in the coming months. 🙂
- Jewel Tones – Think sapphires, rubies, emeralds, amethysts, and more! I love color and almost always incorporate some pop of color into my style even in the colder months. So, tickle my fancy when I feasted my eyes on these beautiful sapphire shooties by Kenneth Cole. I love the sexy crisscross ghillie laces! These caught my attention a few months ago and I’m waiting for the price to drop just enough for me to scoop them up.
- Texture – Always trending and always elevating the ordinary to extraordinary! These quilted moto boots by White House Black Market are a little pricey, but so worth the splurge. They will be your go-to boots as temps fall and leggings become your fashion staple for running errands and chilling by the fire pit on relaxing weekend getaways. The height is perfect too for all my family, friends, and followers who prefer lower heels. 🙂
- Animal print – Yes, they are still trending and that makes me so happy. I love wearing animal print with a conservative outfit. It’s my way of exuding a sexy vibe without being too risqué. 😉 This pair from Jessica Simpson is tres chic with the animal print adorning the transparent upper (still trending!) and the approximately 4-inch stiletto heel. Can’t get any sexier than that!
I’m also adding a bonus t-strap pump from Bar III for a more traditional look. Yet, this look has a modern vibe with the transparent panels.
- Patterns – I love a rich tweed in the fall like this pair from Talbots. The sparkly gold hardware mixed with the red and blue is so beautiful, patriotic even for us Americans. The comfy flats look chic with a great pair of boot cut jeans (another hot fall trend!) or leggings. I own this pair too!
I’m including a bonus pair of flats to show how a mix of patterns can make for a very pretty shoe. I own this one from White House Black Market. Isn’t the flat so darling?! I plan to wear these with basic black leggings and jeans, of course. 😉 I know some of you may find that these look great with skirts and they do, but you know me, I insist on heels with my skirts. 🙂
I’m also sharing a few fashion pieces I picked up or plan to pick up in the next month or two. I truly love dressing up this time of year. So much inspiration with fall fashion.

Coated jeans are so current! This pair from White House Black Market is fabulous in this olive hue. I purchased this about a month ago and can’t wait to feature them on the blog paired with the dolman sweater above.
Lace is so feminine and so pretty for fall and the upcoming holiday season get togethers (in small numbers, of course). This top from White House Black Market is so delicate and pretty.
And a lace LBD is party perfection for cocktails with your significant other and some holiday fun. I have this one from Express.
Tweed adds a level of sophistication to any look. I love this skirt from Express so much that I bought it. 🙂
