Lizzy’s Latest: Thread Tank Collaboration – Stories You Can Wear

Back in February, a representative from Thread Tank reached out to me for a collaboration.  I had never heard of this company, so I looked them up.  I discovered that they are an apparel company that creates graphic tops for women, men, and toddlers.  Their tops display words and phrases that fit your mood and speak your story.  As their motto implies, their tops are “stories you can wear.”

I like the idea of wearing thoughts on tops.  Fashion, in its simplest form, is an expression of your personality.  When the mood is right, a graphic tee can be a fun or perhaps direct way to communicate your state of mind at a particular time.  It’s strategic style that lets you speak without speaking.

This type of storytelling has always appealed to me and I looked forward to working with Thread Tank on this collaboration.  I was instructed to choose two tops.  Initially, I found 5 tops and picked the top 2 from this bunch.

My next hurdle was sizing.  Thread Tank’s apparel claims to be true to size (TTS), so I was a little worried because I’m usually an XS in tops and the smallest size available was a Small.  So, I ordered the Small for both tops and hoped for the best.

Thread Tank makes everything to order, so it took about a week and half for me to receive my care package.  I was so excited to finally have the tops in my hands and when I tried them on, they surprisingly fit perfectly!  So, I would suggest ordering a size up.

For the photo shoot, Dad and I stayed local due to closures and social distancing orders.  Fortunately, we have lots of pretty blooms in our neighborhood and left early to avoid contact with other people.

My first look is a V-neck tee featuring the word, “Indoorsy.”  Unbeknownst to many is that I am a homebody at heart.  It may not seem that way with all my outdoor photo shoots and travel adventures, but I’ve always been an indoors gal.  In fact, my family’s nickname for me is the Suburban Hermit!  However, with the blog keeping me busy, it is hard to stay home as much as I used to and that’s not a bad thing.  As my good friend Lee always tells me, “Liz, you need to get out more.”  Yes, Lee, I know and I am, but my default is to chill at home.  😊

I paired the tee with white jeans and these sexy Steve Madden Zoey dress pumps in a black and blush ombre hue.  I’ve had these pumps since last year and am happy to finally be featuring them on the blog!  They are super chic with the stiletto heels.  I feel so tall and pretty in them. 😊

Dad captured this beautiful shot of a bird standing in the lake. It’s very The Notebook-ish, don’t you think?  I jokingly told Dad he takes better shots of birds than humans. He was not amused. Lol!

My final look is a slouchy, off-the-shoulder (OTS) sweatshirt featuring the word, “LOVE” with a tiny heart at the end of the “e.”  I love the word “love” and I love hearts.  I wear a heart ring all the time and I have a gold bracelet that spells out “love” among many other similar love and heart pieces in my collection.  I’ve loved love and hearts all my life.  Have I used love enough to convey my love for love?  I could lovingly go on… 😉

I paired the sweatshirt with casual skinny jeans and a pair of Charles by Charles David Zulu slouchy western booties.  For all my friends and followers who appreciate high heels, but just can’t wear them, this one’s for you! 😊 They are low-heeled at barely 2 inches.  I love these modern cowboy boots.  They are so chic and complete this All American Girl look.  I felt very patriotic and full of LOVE as I posed and danced at this photo shoot.

Stay safe, my dear friends and followers.  We are living in unprecedented and uncertain times.  I pray for all of you and just know every day that passes gets us closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.  It is the Lenten season; a time that harkens to when Jesus was being tested by Satan in the desert.  We are being tested too and if anything, this stay-at-home order is the perfect time to reflect through prayer, penance, and abstinence.  It is the perfect time to be closer to God.  Together, discipline, perseverance, and faith will get us through this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and we can finally get back to living life and planning adventures.

Style with a Smile!

XoXo
