Lizzy’s Latest – Brookside Gardens – HAPPY 4TH OF JULY, AMERICA!

Happy Birthday, America!!!  249 years young!  It was on this day back in 1776 that 56 men representing the 13 original colonies signed the Declaration of Independence.  This new nation would no longer acquiesce to the whims of a tyrannical British monarch under King George III.  Rather, our independence from Britain established the greatest nation in the history of the world.  And the countdown to the United States’ 250th birthday (Semiquincentennial) on July 4, 2026 has commenced!  Guided by Task Force 250, the salute toAmerica will be a year full of festivities celebrating our great nation.  🙂

For this photo shoot, we chose Brookside Gardens in Montgomery County, MD.  It was the first time visiting this location and we were very impressed with the site.  There were lots of spots for pictures and the place was not too crowded.  Perfect conditions for this photo shoot.

What was not perfect was the weather…ugh!  It was overcast and very humid.  At one point, there was some drizzle.  Unfortunately, my hair does not behave in this type of weather.  So, I had to surrender to the frizz.  Oh well…at least, the Jessica Simpson Jexida sandals were sexy to wear.

The heels are my favorite height at approximately 3.75 inches.  Of course, I love the stiletto heels.  However, what caught my eye was the asymmetrical strap and how it complemented the skinny ankle strap.  It’s a pretty combination.  I paired the sandals with red shorts and a stripe tube top.  I also added a blue stripe belt to complete my 4th of July look.  The heels are still available too.  You can check them out here.

With summer in full swing, it’s amusement park season again!  I had my Godson, Josh, for a week and we got together with my BFF, Packy, and her two kids, Tristan and Trinity.  We were amusement park maniacs that week.  We went to Hersheypark on Monday, rested on Tuesday, and then went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA on Wed.  It was a whirlwind week of roller coasters and water parks.  It worked out quite well between me and Packy.  I don’t like water rides and she does not like roller coasters.  So, the kids got the best of both worlds.  Roller coasters with Aunt Lizzy and water rides with Packy.

Our Busch Gardens group shot:  Packy, me, Joey (Trinity’s friend), Trinity, Tristan, and Josh

Back in high school, I used to work at Water Country USA (owned by Busch Gardens) and the LochNess Monster was my favorite ride.  But, it’s no longer my favorite ride because it’s not a smooth ride anymore.  That ride gave me a momentary headache!  Trinity rode with Joey and Josh wanted to ride with Tristan, so I rode solo on some of the coasters…but, I still had fun!

Once we knew where the cameras were, we could do funny poses.  Josh came up with this one. Lol!

Hope y’all have a great 4th of July!  I’m looking forward to some bbq and fireworks.  Until next time, enjoy the pics!

Style with a Smile.

XoXo,

Lizzy
