Lizzy’s Latest Paranormal Encounter with the Iron Brigade

It was a brisk autumn day at the Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD on November 3, 2018.  After an afternoon of photo shooting around the main areas of the battlefield, we had one more heel/outfit combo to fit in before sunset.  It was a little after 5PM and we were not sure where to go next for the final photo shoot.  With sunlight quickly dissipating, we found a patch of road lined with historic fencing.  It was a lonely road save for a passing car or two; perfect for an impromptu photo shoot. Lizzy’s Latest – Homage to the Poe Toaster

Edgar Allan Poe remained true to his art.  He had so many opportunities to lead a life of practicality, but he always found ways to flee complacency.  For Poe’s passion was writing and he was determined to earn a living wage through his fictions.  He would be the first American writer to attempt this, but his efforts never translated to enduring financial success. Haunted History – The Legend of Moll Dyer – the Witch of Leonardtown, MD

Perhaps I would have reconsidered the brazenness of this pose had I been more familiar with Moll Dyer’s story.  I contacted the guru of Southern Maryland, my best friend, William, for more insight.  His tongue and cheek response: (more…)

Shoespiration – Guess Aurela Lace Up Sandals

Ever since I commenced this blog in 2015, I feel like I am constantly chasing time.  Last month, my intent was to post a main blog post with part 2 of my New Orleans adventure with my Forever BFF, Tammy, but as always, time was fleeting.  Now, it’s October and I have “Ghostober” posts perfect for the month of Halloween.  These posts can’t be delayed and as such, my main blog post shall linger into November.  Though, I’m sure that’s ok, right?  As long as I continue to post new content?  😉  (more…)

Shoespiration – Steve Madden Sidney Dress Sandals

August was full of adventure for me!  I was in Savannah, GA earlier in the month and had a wonderful time.  I will detail that trip in a future blog post.  I also spent time with my two Godsons and niece in SC mid-August.  We had an 80s themed party which I will also share in a future blog post.  By the end of August, we were back to photo shooting for the blog.  I cannot wait to feature that post because it deals with the legend of Moll Dyer, a local woman who lived a century or so ago and was rumored to be a witch.  Perfect post for October!  😉  (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Pelle Moda Floral Strappy Sandals

There’s a back story to these beautiful heels.  I had been eyeing them on the Boston Proper website for almost a year, but hesitated to purchase them because I’d never purchased Pelle Moda shoes.  I didn’t know how they would feel on my feet and I didn’t want the hassle of returning them by mail. Richmond, VA – Maymont – New Orleans, LA Adventure Highlights: Part 1

When my Forever BFF, Tammy, and I were discussing possible destinations for our girls trip last year, she suggested New Orleans, LA.  Although, I had visited the city several times over the years, Tammy had never been there.  She had only heard good stories about it from her late friend, Carlos.     (more…)

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!  Today we celebrate America’s birthday.  It was 242 years ago today that the original 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence.  Today, it is a day for family and friends to come together and celebrate our nation’s birthday with barbecues, parades, concerts, fireworks, and the like.  My family and I will certainly be participating in the festivities.  🙂 (more…)

Shoespiration – White House Black Market Tassel Tie Heels

Oh my goodness!  Where to begin?  I apologize for my extended absence from the blog, but life got busy.  I’ve been traveling too.  I took my niece, Kristin, on our annual girl’s trip to Hersheypark in Hershey, PA.  We had a great time and I will write more about this in a future blog post.   (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Jessica Simpson Beeya Two-Piece Platform Sandals

After Easter, I went a little overboard with shoe shopping.  I bought around 10 pairs of shoes in one sitting!  These sky-high heels were in that bunch.  I’ve never featured Jessica Simpson heels on the blog because a lot of her heels are too high for me and not necessarily the most comfortable.  However, I took a chance on this pair because I love red stiletto heels and I wanted to pair them with this beautiful floral romper.  (more…)
