Lizzy’s Latest – White House Black Market Saffron Lace Up Cork Wedge Sandals

I used to have a fondness for wedge sandals until a conversation with a male friend had me re-thinking my attachment to them.  According to this fellow, wedge sandals are the antithesis of sexy.  Sexiness to him is a woman in stiletto heels.  Given my love of stilettos, I could not argue with him there.  However, his aversion to wedges almost ruined my affinity for them! 

“Almost” being the operative word.  😉  With the 70s fashion revival continuing to trend, wedges are huge this Spring/Summer.  I absolutely love the modern twists, like lace-ups, that amp up the sexiness of a basic wedge sandal. 

In fact, the lace up detail of the White House Black Market Saffron sandals was the first thing to catch my eye.  It exudes sexiness and femininity!  I also love the blend of cork and braided rope.  This mix of textures work well together and give the wedge a sophisticated and lively vibe.  I could not wait for the sandals to be delivered. 

When they arrived, I immediately tried them on and fell in love.  The cinnamon color is so rich in person and the 1.25 inch platform made the approximately 4 inch wedge heel feel so comfortable.  It helps that White House Black Market has their trademark memory foam footbed to add to the comfort level.  It is one of the reasons why I love White House Black Market shoes!    

In this photo shoot, I paired the wedges with a cinnamon colored kimono top and crisp white shorts. I added a cinnamon and gold colored statement necklace for added glamour.  I felt so sexy and confident in this heel/outfit combo and I think it shows in the pictures.  🙂 

The wedge sandal is still available too!  They are a tad pricey, but do go on sale from time to time.  I bought them when they were 30% off a few weeks ago and used some additional coupons to help with the sticker shock. 

I highly recommend these wedge sandals!  They can be dressed up like I have done in this photo shoot for a come-hither/flirtatious vibe.  Or go more casual in a summer dress, skirt, casual shorts, and/or jeans.  These shoes are so versatile and the possibilities are endless! 

By the way, after viewing my initial post for this sandal, my friend acknowledges that he stands corrected.  😉
