Happy Easter, family, friends, followers, and visitors! Jesus Christ is risen today! Alleluia! Jesus conquered death so that we may have eternal life. Faith is a gift and accepting this gift reaps abundant blessings.
For me, life is so much easier trusting in Divine Providence. Letting go of controlling every situation and letting God lead has greatly reduced the stress in my life. Remaining detached from situations and outcomes allows me to truly hear God’s will for my life. Though, I admit, “letting go” is still a work in progress for me. I just try to do better each new day. 🙂
So, it’s been 9 months since my last post. I can’t believe how much time has passed! I am so sorry for the long absence. Last year was a whirlwind of adventure in my life. I was on the go A LOT! My parents and I vacationed in Vicksburg, MS last summer to tour the Vicksburg Civil War Battlefield. Vicksburg has been on Dad’s and my list for a very long time. We found a nice shopping center for Mom (not many shopping places in Vicksburg) and then Dad and I indulged in our passion for Civil War history. I managed to book a tour with Bertram Hays Davis, the great-great grandson of Confederate President, Jefferson Davis! Dad and I love Southern history, so having Bertram as our tour guide was pretty epic. We also did a photo shoot at the Vicksburg Battlefield and I can’t wait to share that with all of you!
This is me with Bertram and his lovely wife, Carol, at their home in Vicksburg.
This rocking chair belonged to President Jefferson Davis. Of course, I had to sit on it! My Civil War inner nerd was geeking out! LOL!!!
My girls trip in October took us to Graceland in Memphis, TN and then we drove to Nashville, TN. Tammy, Packy, Beatrice, and I had a blast! We even got Beatrice to go with us on our annual Halloween scare. It was super fun and we got some great pics that I will share with y’all in a future blog post.
The holidays were great too. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas just went by too fast. I wish time would slow down that last part of the year. Sigh! And now, it’s April. Wow!
For this Easter photo shoot, we drove to one of our favorite Civil War cities, Richmond, VA. You get brownie points if you can guess where we were in Richmond for some of these shots. ;-). And here is a perfect example of giving it to God. I wanted to find colorful blossoms for this photo shoot, but we weren’t sure where in Richmond to go. So, rather than be stressed over where to go, I told God I would let Him lead us. And where we ended up was perfect as you can see from the pics. 🙂
Isn’t my dress lovely?! It was an Amazon find if you can believe it! The brand, Grace Karin, is a brand I’ve collaborated with in the past. You can see those posts here and here. 🙂
My gorgeous heels are the Tanvie sandals by Vince Camuto. The color is sweet lavender. It’s a very spring pink hue that goes perfectly with this dress. The heel height is not too high: approximately 3.5 inches. They are pretty comfortable and I love the floral embellishment on the back of the heel. The only critique I have of these heels is that one of the flowers fell off the first time I wore these heels for the photo shoot yesterday. Fortunately, they fell off after the shoot, but I was still disappointed given these are Vince Camuto shoes. I got these a while ago, but I’m sure you can still find them online with a quick internet search.
What have y’all been up to since we were last here? I hope all is well and 2026 is going great! I have missed all of you and I am going to do my best to post more this year and engage with all of you who want to be engaged. 😉
Until next time, enjoy the pics!
Style with a Smile.
XoXo,
Lizzy
