Shoespiration – BCBGeneration Darron Two-Tone Patent Pumps

Welcome to another segment of Shoespiration!  🙂  These heels were featured on the blog in the Fall of 2015.  They are an imitation of the Rockstud pumps made famous by Italian fashion designer, Valentino.  The gold studs are so edgy and I always feel so sexy when I wear these heels…which is often!  😉  I do have one disappointment with these pumps and that is a couple of the studs have popped out from time to time over the years.  Fortunately, the few times this has happened, I was aware.  So, I am constantly checking to make sure all my studs are accounted for when I do wear these heels. Shoespiration: Vince Camuto Welton Moto Boots

Now that my shoe blog is monthly, the time in between posts sometimes feels like too long of an absence from all of you, at least to me.  As such, I’ve launched a new segment on my blog called, “Shoespiration.”  🙂  Its intent is to fill the fashion void that lingers between my main blog posts.  It’s a mini blog post; a sort of fashion fix if you will to get us through the month.  😉 (more…)

Richmond, VA – Beaver Dam Creek Battlefield – Happy New Year!

Back in early December, my dad sent me, my mom, brother, and sister separate emails with the following question:

“Who in our family is the most excited by, desirous of, jazzed over toys?”

Our response was unanimous:  MOM!

Yes, even Mom said, “Mom.”  😉  (more…)

Southern MD – The Thomas Stone House – Thanksgiving Fun

What’s a Thanksgiving celebration without a little family fun?  Ever since my brother got married, we have always teased him about not cooking a turkey.  Instead he and his wife, Shannon, usually order a turkey dinner from their local grocery store.  Perish the thought…especially if you grew up in an Italian household like we did.      (more…)

Port Tobacco, Maryland – Thomas Stone House – Kindness and Thanksgiving

It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week!  I’ve been in a festive mood since the beginning of November.  I was at the mall and Hallmark was having a special on Christmas cards.  I could not help myself, I purchased two boxes of cards knowing I would probably only need one. (more…)

Gettysburg, PA – The Pennsylvania State Memorial – Reflect, Reset, and Recharge

About one year ago, I published a post called “Confessions of a New Blogger.”  In it, I described my journey as a first time blogger and the realization that maintaining a weekly blog would be unsustainable given my other passions and desire to spend time with family and friends. (more…)

Petersburg, VA – The Crater – Unexpected Surprises

Sometimes, life’s wonderful moments happen unexpectedly.  About a month or so ago, my friend, Bill, surprised me.  He said he would be in my area attending his older brother’s pinning ceremony for promotion to Colonel in the United States Air Force!  I was so happy for Bill and his family because many years before, their father had a similar pinning ceremony when he was promoted to Colonel.  Their military service had come full circle and I can only imagine the pride and joy beaming from their hearts as Stephen was pinned. I have to admit, I’ve lived in Southern Maryland for many years now and this was my first time in Solomons Island.  It is a quaint town on the Patuxent River/Chesapeake Bay.  Very picturesque.  It is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway and/or a photo shoot.  🙂 (more…)

Solomons Island – Savannah, GA Adventure Highlights: Part 3

Charleston, SC is a city I enjoy visiting because of its Civil War past.  So, it was only natural for my Forever BFF, Tammy, and I to take a day trip there.  We left Savannah early Sunday morning.  When we were about 20 miles into South Carolina, traffic came to a crawl on Interstate 95 North.  Tammy exclaimed:  “Look!” and we saw an exit ramp flooded with a submerged car!
