Solomon’s Island, Maryland – Andrew’s Making Money

Hersheypark amusement park in Hershey, PA is such a happy place.  I was so excited to return last July with my Godson, Andrew.  Earlier in the summer, I had taken his sister, Kristin, to the park and we had a wonderful time.  This time around, I looked forward to riding more roller coasters because Andrew is taller than Kristin.  🙂

Andrew’s a Hershey’s, one candy taller than Kristin. 🙂

Two Fridays ago, my beloved Sony VAIO laptop died.  With no laptop, this post remained in limbo.  I spent all last week researching new laptops and so much has changed in the last 10 years!  Being a creature of habit, change doesn’t always come easy to me.  Sigh… (more…)

Richmond, VA – Maymont Mansion – Thankful

When the New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) reunited back in late 2007, I was one of the lucky fans who saw them live on the Today Show on May 16, 2008, their first live concert since 1994!  Now an adult, it was exciting and surreal to watch the boyband of my childhood performing right in front of me.  Donnie Wahlberg (my favorite New Kid) flashed his million dollar smile at me and my heart raced as I smiled back. One of the best things about living in the Washington DC area is the endless options for photo shoot locales.  We decided to drive into Washington, DC to check out the Botanic Garden situated on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.  We found great parking just across the street from it and only had to walk a short distance.  I was looking forward to the shoot until we walked in:  humidity greeted us and the tight walkways were streaming with visitors.  I gave my dad a disapproving look, but he still wanted to take some “test” shots.  We spent about 15 minutes there before I was over it.  Diva behavior according to my dad!  😉 (more…)

Washington DC – The Capitol – The Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice Adventure

As much as I love kids, there was a time when I never wanted any of my own.  That mindset evolved to if I ever had kids, I only wanted boys.  Then, my brother, Michael, and his wife, Shannon, had my niece, Kristin and that sentiment went out the window.  (more…)

Washington, DC – Jefferson Memorial – Ode to my Father

One of the earliest lessons my father taught me was to always honor your commitments.  Integrity is one of my dad’s greatest virtues and it guides him in all aspects of his life.  With my dad, if he’s committed to doing something, he ALWAYS follows through.  He is simply a man of his word.     (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Steve Madden Slithur Caged Sandals

wed-1-img_1358-finalThis photo shoot continues our tour of the Petersburg National Battlefield.  This time we took pictures in an area where a handful of men from the Union army clandestinely dug a mine that reached the Confederate lines.  Once under the Confederate position, the mine was filled with explosives and detonated!  The explosion caused the Earth to tremble propelling Confederate men and artillery into the air and creating a huge crater that was at least 30 feet deep and approximately 120 feet wide!  (more…)
