HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!Β Β
While photo shooting a few weekends ago, we encountered this skeleton emerging from a manhole.Β It was part of a Halloween display decorating the town of La Plata, MD.Β As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great prop poking tongue in cheek fun at all the shoe and feet enthusiasts out there.Β As a shoe blogger, you can imagine the types of messages I get from these admirers…perhaps, that will be a future blog post!Β π
In the meantime, enjoy this Halloween tale about an unsuspecting shoe blogger and a stalking manhole masher in Lizzy vs. the Manhole Masher!Β Β Β Β

Hope y’all enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed putting it together.Β π A special thanks goes to my dad who helped with some of the narration and he was also instrumental in telling the story through these pictures.Β It truly was a collaborative effort merging our ideas for this shoot.Β Β
By the way, my boots are the Senimda from Vince Camuto.Β I’ve had them since last fall and they are so beautiful and comfortable.Β I adore the cognac hue.Β Such a pretty color for fall.Β Β
You can still get these boots too.Β I’ve linked them below and this is an affiliate link.
Have a safe and fabulous Halloween.
Style with a Smile!
XoXo,
Lizzy

That is such a cute dress and I like the boots with it!
I laughed at the photos – you certainly had fun with your photo shoot, and so perfect for Halloween! π
Hope that you had a great weekend π We had a busy but fun long weekend!
Thank you, Mica! The boots and dress came together so randomly too. I bought the boots last year and the dress this year. I had no idea what heels I would pair the dress with and then I remembered these boots! That’s my problem…I buy so many shoes and then I forget I have them. LOL! I’m so glad you like this post too. It took up so much of my time to put together, but I am so happy with the finished content. π Halloween weekend was great here. Can’t believe it’s over now. Happy new week, my friend! π
This is such a lovely outfit and the colors work in perfect harmony. I too really like the cognac color. It has become popular in recent years and still is a statement hue in my opinion. I actually wore my own cognac boots today π Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween, Joanna! π I’m so glad you agree with the cognac color! It is so rich and vibrant. A definite statement hue! I’m sure you look chic and beautiful in your look. Wishing you a wonderful new week, my friend!
OMG! You’re so chic with that dress

Thank you, Margot! I’m so glad you like this look. Hope you had a great Halloween! Can’t wait to see your post on it. π
These pics are so fun! In love with this dress and boots combo. They were made for each other! That boot color is something I turn to again and again!

Thank you, Kathrine! I had so much fun putting this blog post together. It was a lot of late nights, but so worth the finished product. And, YES! I love the cognac hue!
Headed home after a typical photoshoot, our faithful shoe blogger is attacked by a boney creep from the deep.
No doubt he thought heβd have his way.
But no! She battles back with a ferocity rarely seen (and, truly scared the heck out of me as I filmed it).
Not since the renowned Citizen Kane Scene have we seen an auteur lose their self on camera in so violent fashion.

Brilliant!
HAHAHA! Thanks, Dad! I guess I took your direction to heart and really gave that scene my all. π I remember the intensity I felt as I smashed the manhole masher’s head with my handbag over and over again. I stopped after you paused filming and told me to STOP for concern I’d destroy the prop! LOL … guess, I don’t know my own strength!
You two are a good team Lizzy. It’s a good thing there were two of you to fight off the monster!!!
And the boots are amazing (I can see why the manhole monster wanted them)

Thank you so much, Benita! π
Haha, this themed shoot is so cute! And I can only IMAGINE the sorts of messages you get re: shoes and feet. Years ago, some dude relentlessly commented on my blog when I would wear tights or leggings (he thought ladies should always wear tights if their legs were showing) and would even harass me when I’d have bare legs in a post. SO WEIRD. Tights are great! I love ’em! But bare legs are great, too! Either way, it was so odd for some random guy to have an opinion on what I wore. We should all decide what we like to wear because it’s what makes us happy, the most comfortable, etc., and to hell with other people’s unsolicited opinions.
I am loving these boots- the color is so perfect for fall! You look amazing here, Lizzy!

Haha! Yes, Ashley, some of the messages can be disturbing, but overall, they have been “innocent” as innocent can be when talking about shoes and feet. π Oh my gosh! Your story sounds similar to some of mine! Lol! I love tights and bare legs. I love wearing tights when it’s colder because it gives me a break from putting on the Vita Liberata tan lotion. Though, in the summer, I prefer bare legs because it’s too hot for tights. Glad you like this post and thank you for sharing your story! Have a lovely rest of your week!
lovely pictures
Thank you so much! π
