It was mid-January in Southern Maryland and after a cold spell, Mother Nature gave us a beautiful weekend.  Relatively warm days like these are few and far between in the wintertime here, so Dad and I took advantage of the nice weather and scheduled a photo shoot.

Where to go?  That’s always the question nowadays.  😉  We stayed local to leverage the sunlight and after driving around for a little bit, we stumbled upon this location with a striking white fountain in La Plata, MD.  It would provide a nice contrast to my tall black boots.

The boots are lovely at a heel height of approximately 3.5 inches.  I was a little worried about where the top of the boot would hit because I have short legs.  Fortunately, they stayed just below my knees.  🙂 

Thanks to White House Black Market’s proprietary memory foam footbed, I had no trouble jumping in and out of the fountain as well as running up and down steps for shots.  I wore the boots for a large part of the afternoon without any discomfort.

I love comfortable and stylish shoes.  I had been desiring a pair of tall black boots with skinny heels for many years now, but never found a pair I liked enough to buy.  Then, I gazed upon these beauties with the braided leather tie encircling the ankle.  So simple yet so chic.  So me!  🙂  I had to have these, but I balked at the sticker shock!

My heart and my mind were at odds again.  As much as I wanted these boots, I could not justify paying over $200 for them.  So, I waited hoping my size would not disappear.  That’s always my fear when I decide to practice patience instead of surrendering to instant gratification.  

Well, it must have been kismet because I was online one day and discovered the boots were specially priced at over 50% off.  I immediately purchased them and thank goodness I did because they were sold out in my size later that day.  I am so happy about this purchase and I know these boots will last for many years.

These boots are great to wear to the office.  I paired mine with a black boot skirt and green sweater for that pop of color.  I finished the look off with a pair of Spanx tights.  These boots would also look great with other styles of mini skirts.  You know me…I love to show a little leg for that sexy vibe.   😉
