Lizzy’s Latest – Marc Fisher Nella Over the Knee Boots

Every Christmas I volunteer at the former Museum of the Confederacy (now the American Civil War Museum) for Court End Christmas.  I’ve had the honor of being Santa’s Elf every year and it’s always great catching up with my favorite Santa – the real Santa!  😉

My annual pic with Santa. 🙂

Alexandria, VA: Fort Ward – Farewell my Faithful Friend

This Christmas was especially meaningful to me.  I was enjoying the company of family and creating precious memories, but also grieving my dear friend and Manager, Anna, who was tragically killed in a tour bus crash in Mexico days before Christmas along with her 11-year old son, Daniel, and her recently widowed mother.  Anna’s husband, Moises, and 15-year old son, David, survived, thankfully. Lizzy’s Latest – BCBGeneration Elle Strappy Booties

These shots were taken the same day as my torturedSoles shoot.  We finished taking pictures early for that fabulous collaboration and decided to take advantage of the beautiful Fall weather by fitting in another heel/outfit combo.  I chose the BCBGeneration Elle booties because they are so perfect for Fall!  The burgundy hue is on trend and the peep toes make it a great transition bootie for cooler weather. Southern Maryland – Fearless

I always get nervous when I have to drive to unfamiliar places.  Fortunately, it’s not as intimidating anymore with a GPS navigator and apps like Waze to direct me.  I used both to guide me to my Aunt Lisa, Uncle Shawn, and cousin, Caroline’s house back in July. (more…)

Shoespiration – White House Black Market Ruby Suede Pumps

I recently returned from my annual girls trip with my Forever BFF, Tammy.  Adventure led us to New Orleans, LA this year.  It was a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Tammy.  I will share the details of this trip in a future blog post, of course.  😉

I’ve always adored traditional pumps.  I find them beautifully timeless and fiercely feminine.  Over the years, I have tried to wear them, but my narrow heels would always slip out of the heels causing me great frustration and embarrassment.  Eventually, I discovered heel inserts and thought they would be the solution to my narrow heels.  The drug store brands did solve the heel issue, but their bulk made the toe box extremely tight and painful.  For a while, I endured the pain for fashion’s sake, but the nightly toe cramps finally convinced me that traditional pumps were simply not compatible with my narrow heels.  Sigh…

Unable to wear traditional pumps, my feelings start with sadness…

Then, evolve to utter frustration!

Two Fridays ago, my beloved Sony VAIO laptop died.  With no laptop, this post remained in limbo.  I spent all last week researching new laptops and so much has changed in the last 10 years!  Being a creature of habit, change doesn’t always come easy to me.  Sigh… (more…)

Richmond, VA – Maymont Mansion – Thankful

When the New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) reunited back in late 2007, I was one of the lucky fans who saw them live on the Today Show on May 16, 2008, their first live concert since 1994!  Now an adult, it was exciting and surreal to watch the boyband of my childhood performing right in front of me.  Donnie Wahlberg (my favorite New Kid) flashed his million dollar smile at me and my heart raced as I smiled back. Shoespiration – Vince Camuto Paxton Caged Heel

Can you tell I’m on a cage heels kick?  😉  These Vince Camuto Paxton sandals are from last Summer.  They are part of a surplus of blog pics that have yet to be published.  I’m so happy to finally feature them this week before we say good-bye to Summer.  (more…)

Lizzy’s Latest – Vince Camuto Lorrana Dress Sandals

One of the best things about living in the Washington DC area is the endless options for photo shoot locales.  We decided to drive into Washington, DC to check out the Botanic Garden situated on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.  We found great parking just across the street from it and only had to walk a short distance.  I was looking forward to the shoot until we walked in:  humidity greeted us and the tight walkways were streaming with visitors.  I gave my dad a disapproving look, but he still wanted to take some “test” shots.  We spent about 15 minutes there before I was over it.  Diva behavior according to my dad!  😉 (more…)
