Lizzy’s Latest – XOXO Trinidad Snake Print Slouch Boots
I adore XOXO’s mid-calf snake print slouch boots! Snake print is having a moment and I had been coveting snake print boots for some time now, but could never find a pair that felt right to me until these caught my eye. I had to have them! Fortunately, they were on sale and I purchased them immediately.
They truly are fabulously chic! The snake print texture and mid-calf slouch are on trend and add a flirty appeal to the boot. I also adore the sexy stiletto heels! At approximately 3.5 inches, they are oh so comfortable and I feel oh so confident sashaying on the catwalk of life in them! I’ve had these boots on repeat since they arrived and have received so many compliments.
They are still available here, but sold out at most other places. You’ll definitely want this pair in your shoe collection if you’re feeling the snake print vibe. 🙂
For this shoot, I paired them with black leggings and a sparkly charcoal grey tunic for a modern chic feel. Of course, you can certainly wear them with jeans too for a casual chic vibe. I’ve done that many times already. The boots would look great with skirts and dresses too. They truly are that versatile!
I could not wait to feature them on the blog. They are my favorite boots of the season and were prominently featured in Lizzy’s Latest annual Top Five Fall Favorites post. So, color me ecstatic when the time came for this photo shoot. 🙂
It was mid-October and I was hoping to find a location with fall foliage. Dad had suggested we check out Catoctin Mountain Park in Western Maryland and I was game. However, my indoors girl mentality did not prepare me for the realities of roaming a mountain park.
We got there and the visitor parking lot was full, so we continued driving in. What struck me first was that this park looked nothing like the Civil War battlefield parks I am accustomed to. There were mountains, woods, and steep trails everywhere! I had thought “hiking” would be easy peasy…boy, was I wrong and I had two heel/outfit combos for this shoot.
As I observed my surroundings while feeling a little bit out of my element, Dad advised me to change into my sneakers. Sneakers? Ooops! I forgot to bring them figuring the “outdoors” would be like the battlefields. Dad was not amused. Clearly, I was not prepared for this outing and this oversight limited us from going too far into the park. Sigh…
As we drove, I spied rocks that matched my ensemble! It was the perfect spot for this final shoot of the day. Unfortunately, the path was uneven and on an incline. I stepped slowly and cautiously as we found our way to some amazing rock formations and took our initial shots there.
We continued up the trail until we got to the top of the rocks and what a surprise! The scenery was ethereal! I felt like I was in an enchanted forest with the rich green hues and yellow leaves. We spent the majority of the shoot at the top of the rocks, mostly because of its beauty and partly because I was dreading the hike down the path in my stilettos. Luckily, we discovered another way down that had less of a slope. I survived the shoot! 🙂
On the way back, we stopped at an abandoned house because it was made of stone and it looked haunted (paranormal enthusiast here!). While taking pictures, we met a woman named Bonnie who lived in the house next door. She disclosed her family owned the stone house, but it remained in disrepair because of a lack of funds to maintain it. Her property, on the other hand, was scenic. A charming pond surrounded by saplings and bushes was inviting, but seemed out of place for that stretch of lonely road. It was too pretty to pass up and we asked her if she would allow us to take pictures on her property. Bonnie was very kind and obliged. She curiously watched us for a little bit before returning to her house. The last several pics are from Bonnie’s beautiful oasis. 🙂
Have a wonderful and safe weekend! Lizzy’s Latest will be back next week for the first of two fun shoots celebrating the Washington Nationals World Series Championship win against the Houston Astros!
Style with a Smile!

Just lovely Lizzy. This outfit suits you well.. We ran into a few hikers and other visitors at the park. I think at least a few of them were impressed that you were able to make even a short distance up the trails.
As I recall Bonnie told us that her father built the stone house and that despite it looking rather decrepit, a friend of hers was living in it. She just wasn’t there when we were photographing. Bonnie also mentioned that she knew whenever the president was at nearby Camp David because his helicopter flies over her house.

Thank you, Dad! I do remember getting curious looks from some of the hikers. Ahhh…ok, thank you for shedding more light on the stone house. I thought Bonnie said her brother had been living in it, but he left because he couldn’t maintain the house. Whatever the case, that house certainly had a creepy vibe.

Tell your dad that I’d have been the same way….hiking to me is just walking along a path…haha!!
I just adore these boots. I have a snakeskin pair that have eaten the dust…I’ve worn them that much. I guess it’s time for a replacement.
