Gettysburg, PA – The Pennsylvania State Memorial – Reflect, Reset, and Recharge
About one year ago, I published a post called “Confessions of a New Blogger.” In it, I described my journey as a first time blogger and the realization that maintaining a weekly blog would be unsustainable given my other passions and desire to spend time with family and friends.
As such, I made the decision to switch from publishing my shoe blog weekly to publishing it every other week. I was confident this new format would allow me to pursue my other passions and have more time for family and friends.
The new format DID allot me more time, but I was using the majority of the “free” week to stay ahead of my next blog post. My goal was to write the content and select pictures during the week. Then, edit and publish on the weekend.
When I first started this new arrangement, it was such a relief from the stress of a weekly blog. However, my shoe blog still dominates a majority of my life. Aside from all the work necessary for the blog content, I still have to make time on the weekends for photo shoots.
If you follow other fashion blogs, you will realize my shoe blog is not a typical fashion blog. It would be much easier if we took quick shots on neighborhood streets and sidewalks. Instead, my dad (photographer) and I seek out locations that are interesting to us or have historical significance. Once there, these shoots last all afternoon with my dad taking close to 1,000 pictures by the end of the day! It’s a lot of work to say the least!
Thus far, the balance I’ve been seeking has yet to be achieved. With Winter fast approaching, I thought it would be the perfect time to transition my shoe blog to a monthly schedule and see how that works out. Therefore, beginning November my shoe blog will post monthly on the week of the 15th.
I am cautiously optimistic about this new timetable. This has been quite a journey and I wholeheartedly thank you all so much for your understanding and continued support. I truly enjoy sharing my love of heels and history with you. There is so much more to come! 🙂
AND…Happy Halloween! Here’s a creepy story: my co-worker’s house is supposedly haunted by the previous owner, a man who had a massive heart attack and died in his/their bedroom. My co-worker’s wife forgot to set her alarm one day and that morning she woke to a hand tapping her shoulder the time her alarm was supposed to sound. She turned thinking it was her husband only to find him sound asleep! I guess the former owner didn’t want her being late to work. 😉 Can you imagine?! Stay safe and have a wonderful week. 🙂
Lizzy’s Latest for this week is the Marc Fisher Tune Fringe booties. I will give my review of these boots on Wednesday. For now enjoy the pictures! 🙂

Oh yay! Thank you, Camila! 🙂 I know what you mean…I am going to miss summer too once the cold sticks around, but until then, I am going to enjoy what’s left of the warm weather. Hope you’re doing better these days! Have a great week, Beautiful!
