Hollywood Cemetery – Beauty and the Studs
I am old school when it comes to technology. I had a Blackberry until it died and I was “forced” to upgrade. I have a Samsung Galaxy now and I love it. Yet, I still hold on to antiquated habits such as owning a tube TV (“vintage,”right?), mailing bills, and doing my banking at the bank. Yes, I still balance my checkbook too!
Technology is great because it gives bloggers the platform to reach a global audience. Instagram is an example of this. I have posted around 10 pictures thus far for my shoe blog and I noticed “likes” from outside the United States. It is exciting and intimidating all at the same time.
I am learning more about hashtags (#) too. For a while, I referred to hashtags as pound signs until I was corrected. That’s how foreign social media was to me, but I am a fast learner. I have been using more and more hashtags and the response has been positive. My last picture posted already has close to 70 “likes” AND I have a few more followers. I am grateful to these early followers! I appreciate all of you for supporting Lizzy’s Latest in its beginning.
But why am I talking about hashtags? Well, this week I learned to beware of some hashtags! I’ve been studying hashtags of pictures I have “liked.” Most use the same ones I do, but sometimes I will see one I have not seen before. This was the case with #POTD. It was around 10PM when I clicked on #POTD and I was taken aback! The pictures weren’t necessarily of sexy heels or cute outfits. Rather, they were of scantily clad women and naked women in very scandalous positions! I figured #POTD must mean “Position of the Day” or worse, “Pu**y of the Day!” Gross! I later learned it stands for “Photo of the Day.” Needless to say, I think I will stay away from that hashtag!
On a far more innocent note, at church this weekend while I was in line for Communion, a woman tapped my shoulder and whispered, “I love your shoes.” I smiled and thanked her. I would like to think this is God’s way of telling me that I was meant to create Lizzy’s Latest and share my love of heels with you! 🙂
